Freshmen & fairness

Ethan's POV
I walk towards the spot on the field, where the freshmen and juniors are all waiting near the bleachers, with an extra spring in my step. Maybe because I was excited to boss them around for half an hour, but it was also because I was trying to get there as fast as I could thanks to Bailey making me late.

It was a Friday, and on fridays I train them for a while before coach comes and takes over. They all look up as I walk towards the bleachers, most of them are afraid of me even though they try to hide it.

I can always tell when they're trying to be tough,
I get it. I used to be them. Scared, sore, tired and on top of that only a Freshmen in High-school. I guess I felt bad for them, but I didn't let it stop me from messing with them.

I look down at my phone 8:11am.

"Sorry I'm late, my sisters an idiot." I remark as a couple of them laugh.

I stand in front of them and my eyes travel to number 4, Brandon. On the drive to school I was thinking of whether to punish Bailey for talking to a boy or Brandon for being the said boy. But considering Brandon was the one who asked Bailey out in the first place, I'd deal with him first.
I start off by saying,

"Look, it's no surprise that seniors like me enjoy beating the shit out of and terrorising freshmen like yourself."

I glance across the group of boys.

"And I don't like coming to school and beating every one of you to a pulp just because I feel like it. Actually, I lie. Maybe sometimes I do."

A few snicker, not because they found it funny. Just because they had to.

"What I'm trying to say is seeing as this training is somewhat monitored by coach, I like to have a reason to take out my anger on you guys." I elaborate. My eyes move to one of the juniors, a younger brother of my friend.

"For example, how JASON can't seem to pick up basic game plays that my Mother could learn in a second makes me pray he can run faster then I can the second I snap."
A few of them laugh, except for Jason. He's red and trying to laugh along too.

"Do you get what I'm saying? Because coach can pull my opportunity to train you guys if he thinks i'm being too harsh. I like to try and be fair and only be mean when I have. But bump shoulders with me the second this practice is over and that's a completely different story, as I'm sure some of you know."

And it was clear some of them did know. I can list three of them on the spot that have experienced hell from me and the other seniors.

"But all that aside, today I don't know if being fair will work. Because I've started this practice with a problem. And that problem is with Brandon." I change my focus to look at him.
One of the boys next to him quietly jeers him as Brandon his his shoulder, and he knocks it off. The rest are quiet and now are looking from me to Brandon

"Because Brandon asked my little sister out on a date over snapchat."
They're not quiet anymore, some of them are cheering for him.

"Which I frankly don't get why, as there are plenty of other girls who are NOT my little sister and aren't ugly" I smirk, Brandon frowns.

"Dude she's not ugly, stop being such an ass." he fights.

"I would be nice to me Norman , I have you for another 20 minutes before coach comes. So I would be nice to me." I say, stuffing my hands in my pocket.

"But enough of that, I'm not letting your asses slack off when you have a game tonight!Go run two laps to start for warmup!" They all groan, but know not to push me so they start their laps.

I grab Brandon by the shirt, "Listen Norman I'd reconsider your plans for tonight if you want an easy life. Got it?" I sneer. He shakes his head with the fastest yes he can.

"Good." I whisper. " If I hear anything else... you're a dead son of a bitch, understand Brandy?"

"Yeah, Okay." He answers while looking at the ground.

"You're not gonna let me down tonight right? You're gonna win for us aren't you? The other seniors might be nicer then me if you hurt the schools reputation and let the team down, but I can't guarantee that." I say, cracking my neck.

"And if you ever hurt my sister? I will beat the living shit out of you, even harder then I will if you let me down tonight. Now get lost Norman." I smirk, and let him join the others.

I glance over my shoulder, Graysons goofing around and getting ready for our game tonight with the senior team.

I jog over to say what's up before I'd have to get back
to the freshmen.
