"Un...unresponsive? She isn't talking, she isn't moving. I...I did this to her." I thought as I started to cry, holding her hand and kissing it. I grabbed her limp, cool body and held her, hoping she would wake up. I felt her breathing, but it wasn't healthy breathing. I heard Weiss on the phone, yelling.
"Fifteen minutes! You have to get here quicker! She...she has a wife and a newborn baby. Please, sir." I heard her say before I busted out with tears again. They were burning hot and scorched my face as they rolled down. I cradled Blake closer to my body and stroked her hair, kissing her and telling her I loved her, knowing she couldn't hear me.
I heard Shaylynn cry and Ruby try to soothe her as the EMT's arrived. They got Blake on a stretcher and we got in the ambulance with Ruby, Weiss, and Shaylynn close behind us. I cried the whole way to the hospital and until we got to the no access point. I sobbed and dropped to the floor as I watched the roll her out of my sight, out of my reach.
I didn't leave for hours straight, Ruby and Weiss took Shay home. butI decided to stay and wait. I wasn't just going to leave her here, she hates hospitals. 'It reminds me of Adam' she would always say, 'I hate being there and having their stupid hospital food because it taste like play dough' she would laugh.
A doctor came out an hour later.
"Belladonna?" I sighed.
"It's actually Xiao Long." I mumbled. The doctor smiled as she took me to her room. We went down the hall a while into room 187, on the second floor. We walked in and I covered my mouth, which was agape. They had her hooked on so many machines and there were so many wires. Blood, a morphine drip, and a heart monitor were all present. Her monitor was beeping irregularly, indicating something was wrong.
