*Miranda*
"Eff off," I told him.
"Come on, did you?" Cody asked again.
"Just go away," I said irritated.
"Come on! Just tell me!"
"Fine! I tell you, you keep your mouth shut and quit bugging me," I snapped.
"Done."
"Yeah, we did," I admitted.
"HOLY CRAP!"
"Shut up! You tell no one or I kill you!" I said.
"I can't believe you and Tyler-"
"Shut up! Why are you even following me?" I asked him. I was walking home from school and he was following me.
"Don't you know that there's a guy missing? There could be a psycho around here somewhere," he said. I looked down and acted like it didn't bother me as much as it did. "So I'm making sure you get home safely."
"Out of all the other lovely girls who could have your service, you choose me?" I asked sarcastically. "I'm honored."
"You should be," he grinned, pulling out a joint. I knocked it from his hand.
"Are you crazy? You're out in public," I said.
"If there is one person in this town who doesn't know that I smoke pot with Jesse, I'd like to know who they are."
"People may know, but you don't need to give the cops evidence and get your ass sent to prison."
"Been there, done that," he scoffed.
"You have not been sent to prison."
"Juvie," he grinned wider.
"There's something to be proud of," I scoffed, turning onto the pathway that led to my front door. "Well, as much as I have enjoyed your company, I'm home safe now. So thank you," I said.
"Your welcome. And let me tell you something else weird, you know that guy that disappeared Friday night?"
"What about him?" I asked stiffly.
"They found something down by Cabana that's his. Like his....wallet? It was missing his money and...maybe his credit card too. I can't remember. Weird, isn't it?" he said.
"Yeah," I said softly. "Very."
"Well, see ya later," he said, leaving. I ran inside my house.
*Lisa*
"Calm down, I'm sure that doesn't mean anything," I told Miranda. She was freaking out because the police found his wallet in the parking lot of Cabana.
"They could get it tested and see if there are any fingerprints on it! What if ours are on it?" she asked.
"Then that would just say that we found it or something."
"They would ask us why we didn't turn it in! They would bring us in for questioning and then we would be suspects and I haven't even gotten the stains out and, OH MY GOD I'm hyperventilating," she breathed.
"Miranda, calm down. Look, I'm going to call Tyler and talk to him. You just calm down and do what you normally do after school. I'll call you later, okay?" I said.
"Okay," she whispered.
"Just breathe," I said, hanging up. I quickly dialed Tyler's number.
"Yo?" he answered boredly.
