*Miranda*
I watched as Joe came closer and closer to us. What was he going to do? He was my friend, I knew that, but I didn't know how much of a friend he would be in this situation. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best as I approached him, the other three behind me. He looked behind me and I shrugged.
"It's their secret too. I thought they should know about this," I explained. He hesitated before he talked.
"Okay. Fair is fair, I guess," he said.
"What do you want to talk about?" I asked. He walked past us to the end of the pier, right in front of the water, and looked down at it.
"Is he really down there?" he asked.
"Who wants to know?" Jesse asked.
"You the cops now?" Tyler asked at the same time. Joe turned and glared at both of them.
"I wouldn't talk to me like that if I were you," he snapped.
"Or what?" Jesse challenged, daring him to blackmail us. Lisa rolled her eyes and looked at me worriedly. She and I both knew that this couldn't go well. I shook out of my thoughts when Joe talked again. And when he did, I couldn't believe the words that came out of his mouth.
*Lisa*
Joe came closer and closer and I grew more and more nervous with each step he took. Could I trust him? Could I really trust him to keep his mouth shut about this whole thing? As these questions ran through my mine, I grew mad at Miranda all over again. How could she be so stupid! How could she spill her guts to this guy? I don't know how good of friends they were for him to keep quiet. Judging by the look on Jesse's face, they better be really good friends for him to not do anything to Joe. Joe was in front of us now and he looked past Miranda at me, Tyler, and Jesse. Miranda shrugged.
"It's their secret too. I thought they should know about this," she explained to him. He put on a thoughtful look before he talked again.
"Okay. Fair is fair, I guess," he said.
"What do you want to talk about?" Miranda asked him. He walked toward the end of the pier and looked down at the water.
"Is he really down there?" he asked.
"Who wants to know?" Jesse asked at the same time Tyler asked if he was the cops.
"I wouldn't talk to me like that if I were you," Joe snapped at them.
"Or what?" Jesse challenged. I rolled my eyes. Jesse, always trying to be the tough guy. I sent a worried look toward Miranda. She looked back at me with wide worried eyes. Jesse would do something to this kid if that meant our secret would be kept.
"I think you should have a good idea of what I would do if you don't treat me right," Joe said calmly.
"What the hell did you just say?" Jesse snapped. I grabbed his arm, knowing that he would calm down if I grabbed him. I was carrying his kid, he wouldn't do anything that could get me hurt. Oh god. Did Joe know about that part?
*Tyler*
I couldn't believe the moron that stood in front of me. Was he really threatening us? Was he really going to blackmail us? I looked and Miranda and she watched me apologetically. I couldn't blame her. At one point, I don't remember exactly when, I came close to telling Brian about what happened. This was a perfect example of what could have happened, had I told Brian. I was glad that I didn't now.
"Oh, I think you heard me," Joe said, with a scheming smirk. Miranda gasped.
"Joe, you wouldn't tell, would you? On me?" she asked.
