You had always been aware that there was someone watching you, but never once did you think it could be someone as dangerous as him.
At first, you thought little of the uneasy feelings and the irrational fear that someone might actually be hiding in that dimly lit corner. Like most others, you chalked it up to be nothing more than your eccentric imagination. That is, until, you actually started seeing him.
You couldn't help but fear for the worst when you continued to see the same man all over the city for months on end. The city was far from being desolate; there was no logical reason as to why you would see the same man countless times a day in various locations.
In not wanting to jump to conclusions, you merely assumed it to be some odd coincidence. But as this continued to progress for weeks, you knew it couldn't just be that. This man with his light blue hair and deathly pale skin had to be following you, perhaps even the one you presumed to be watching you as well.
The police were of no help to you. Even if they wanted to help you, their hands were tied. Without hard evidence that this man was, indeed, stalking you or had any violent intentions, there was little to nothing that they could do about it.
They needed him to do something first but by then, it would already be too late for you.
This constant cycle of fear you were pulled into by someone unknown lasted for months. You refused to leave your apartment at night and you could hardly sleep more than a couple hours at a time. Every time you closed your eyes, you saw the image of that light blue-haired man approaching you ever so slowly until suddenly, he was right in front of you.
Even though he didn't do anything yet, you knew he finally would in all due time. He'd eventually grow the courage to approach you and you knew you couldn't be there when that time finally came. As difficult as it was for you to do so, you had to move.
You tried to be as discreet about it as possible. Very few knew of this sudden decision of yours, to your relief. Within only a few weeks, all of your belongings were packed and your new apartment was ready for you to move into the following day. All you had to do was make it one more night in the city you felt unsafe in and it would all be over.
If only you managed to make it through the night.
Despite your best efforts to keep it all a secret, nothing could be kept from him. From the moment he first laid eyes on you, Shigaraki was entranced. He knew you were no villain, yet you were no hero either. You were someone pure; someone still able to be swayed to either side of the spectrum. He was deeply fascinated with you in more ways than he originally thought.
You were gorgeous and pure, yet he couldn't help but notice the sliver of darkness within you and that yearned to come out. You reminded him of himself in a way. That's why he knew he couldn't let you go. He had to keep watching you and watching you to ensure you never changed; to ensure you would remain the girl he was to entranced with.
That's why he knew he needed to stop you the moment he realized you planned to leave the city.
He couldn't bear to have you leave him. He wanted - no, needed - you at his side. He needed to make sure that one day, you would be able to see the world through his eyes. You were Shigaraki's one last hope in finding someone who could truly understand him. Without ever even uttering a single word to you, he knew he loved you.
He watched you through your window until you finally calmed down enough to fall asleep. Oh, how he adored watching you sleep - how he loved the peaceful look on your face as you did. You were an angel; one who would soon awaken to a dreadful reality.
It wasn't the sound of his footsteps nor the dark presence hovering over you that awakened you. No, it was the touch of his skin. The moment his hand closed over your mouth, your eyes opened wide in shock. Your hands gripped onto his in a futile attempt to pry him off of you. You screamed and screamed until your throat was raw, yet it was all for naught. His hand muffled any and all sounds you made, leaving you unable to gain the attention of any of your neighbors.
Not that they could stop him anyway.
Using his free hand, he gently stroked your hair as his body weighed yours down to the bed, ignoring your desperate attempts to push him off and the tears that never ceased to roll down your cheeks.
He hushed you softly as he continued to soothingly caress your hair. "There's no need to worry, [name]," he reassured you. "There's no need to worry. You're finally mine now."
