This serial killer can also be identified as the Texarkana Moonlight Murder. The murders in this case happened between February and May of 1946. The Phantom Killer attacked 8 people, 5 of those people were killed. This killer would murder couples using a .32, usually in secluded areas (lovers lane). All attacks happened three weeks apart on weekends. A number of people were interviewed but no one was ever charged for the murder. The movie "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" is a fictionalized version of the events that took place during the murders, same with the 2014 movie. Its also said that the Phantom Killer could even be the reason for the "Hook Man" urban legend.
