Chapter N i n e

- A l e k s POV -

That wasn't exactly the choice I wanted him to make but like I said to him..I'll support him no matter what. The doctor seemed to be happy that he made that choice, so I guess I should be as well. Out of the two choices he could make, he chose the one where he could die. For some reason, that really affected me.

We were in the car driving towards the office. The silence between us was deadly. Thankfully, James broke it.

"Are you okay with my decision?" He asked me as I looked over at him and smiled.

"Uh, yeah! I am completely okay with your decision..." I lowered my voice as I turned to look out the window. I rubbed my tattooed arm and traced the outlines. I heard the car stop as James turned off the ignition.

"We're here." He stepped out and then looked back in. "You coming?"

"Yeah, yeah. I'll be in, just give me a few." I told him as he nodded, shutting the car door and leaving me in peace. 

It was then that I let it all sink it. I let myself slide down the chair and I sighed. "Why do I have to be the one to take this so fucking hard?" I growled underneath my breath as I stepped out and walked towards the office. 

- J a m e s POV -

I explained everything to the guys. I explained the surgery the best of my ability and I explained the risks. They seemed worried but other than that they were pretty damn supportive. I appreciated that. Everyone turned their attention to Aleks who walked into the room. He stepped in and Eddie walked over. He hugged him tightly. 

God Damnit, I knew Aleks wasn't okay with my decision but I also knew that he wouldn't tell me about it. Jordan walked up to me and smiled. "We'll all be sure to visit you when you wake up." 

Eddie was talking to Aleks as I looked over. I saw the expression on his face change as he hugged Aleks and I looked back at Jordan. "Thanks, it means a lot, Hordan." I gave a small smile. "Would you guys like to go out for a drink or two, maybe?" 

"I'd love to. I don't think Seamus would be up for it though. He went home sick today.." Jordan mumbled as he raised his voice. "We should all go out for a drink tonight!" Eddie shouted yes and so did Dan. Aleks looked at me then at Jordan, shrugging his shoulders. 

With that we all drove in the same car and to the nearest bar. 

- A l e k s POV -

Eddie asked me how it went with James. I told him simply that I had fallen asleep in his arms and that was all he needed to know. He ended up hugging me because it was obvious enough that I was not too pleased about choice. I just didn't want James to die. No, I'm not over reacting, I'm under reacting. I hadn't even told him the truth about what I was thinking or...

My thought process was cut off when Jordan yelled out that we should all go out for a drink. I shrugged my shoulders as I looked over at James. 

We arrived at the bar. I followed closely behind Eddie as we sat down and Jordan, Dan and James sat on the other side. We ordered beers and shots. Eddie became intoxicated quickly and so did Dan. Our sober leader was Jordan. He drank a couple beers but not to the point where he'd become intoxicated. 

This night was great. James, Eddie, Dan and I were all drunk. We kept making jokes at each other and making fun of Jordan because he wasn't able to drink. Dan and Eddie got up on the bars stage and began singing, Fancy by Iggy Azeala. It was funny and very interesting to watch. 

As midnight crept upon us, we packed up the car and had Jordan drive us all home. He said he'd pick us up in the morning to take us to our cars at the office. 

James and I walked into our house and towards the living room. He fell back onto the couch as I sat in the chair across from it. I slide down into it and sighed. I was drunk and my vision was dazed. I hiccuped as I stood up and made my way over to James. Next thing I knew he grabbed me, pulling me ontop of him. 

My cheeks flushed as I attempted to get up. He pulled me back down. "Please don't leave." I heard him say as I sighed. I gave in finally as I rested my head on his chest, listening to the sound of his heart beat.
