Chapter T w o

- A l e k s POV -

I got a call early in the morning from James. I was told that I needed to come into the office and that it was an emergency. I was a little worried. James had been acting off lately and not like himself. He had kept himself in his room most of the time and barely came out. Ever since he had went to the doctor about his headaches, he's been acting off. James said they were just stress headaches but I felt like they weren't. 

I got dressed and grabbed a pepsi on my way out. I drove as fast as I could to the office. I wasn't the only one that was worried about James. Eddie had texted me and asked if I knew what was going on with James. I told him I had no clue and he said he was a little worried about it all. I told him I was too and hoped it wasn't anything bad. 

As I walked into the office I saw Jordan and Dan in the kitchen discussing the matter. James was waiting in the stream room, setting up a couple things. I walked towards them.

"Do you guys know what this is about?" Dan and Jordan shrugged their shoulders. Jordan put his hand on my shoulder. 

"Don't worry, Aleks. I'm sure it's nothing bad okay?" He gave me a small smile and I faintly smiled.

James meant a lot ot me. He was my room mate and best friend. He had always been there for me when I needed someone and I'd like to think that he would come to me if something was really wrong with him. To be honest, I had grown feelings for my bearded best friend. I never shared it of course with him because I knew James did not feel the same way about me. I did tell Eddie one day. He promised to keep it a secret. 

The stream room door opened and it was James. He looked like hell. "I'm ready for you guys." He said in a low tone as he walked back into the stream room and everyone else joined him.

- J a m e s POV -

I set the room up so that my scans were on the board. You could clearly see the white spot and I even made an arrow point to it. As everyone entered they looked at the xrays. The last person to enter was Aleks and he sat down staring at the xrays and then back at me. He gave me that worried look and I avoided eye contact with him.

"James, whats going on?" I heard Seamus say. 

I took a moment and took a deep breath out. "This isn't easy for me to say. I've been keeping a secret from you guys." I said as I walked over to the white board holding my scans. "When Aleks told me to go to the doctor about my headaches, I did. He took an xray of my brain and well..." I pointed at the spot that was white. "This is a tumor that has been growing for a while. I wasn't sure how to tell you all so I just kept it a secret." 

I looked at the faces. Everyone was shocked and then I looked at Aleks face. His facial expression was hard to confirm. It seemed as if he was confused by the other scan. I proceeded to explain.

"This..is an xray I just got a couple days ago." I pointed once again at the much bigger white spot. "It's been growing rapidily lately. My doctor suggested that I tell someone about this because he's going to have to boost up my treatments and he's not sure if.." My voice trailed off and I sighed looking down. I heard a familiar face speak up.

"If you are going to make it.." I looked up and it was Aleks. His face was filled with sadness and hurt. I don't think I had ever seen him that destroyed before. I felt my heart break just by his facial expression. I slowly nodded. 

"Yes, he isn't sure if I'm going to make it..but he said I need my people. I need you guys to be there for me. Things are going to get rough and it's best I have my people around." 

Jordan and Dan smiled slightly. "We'll definitely be there for you, James. We are sorry that this had to happen to you..." 

Eddie and Seamus both agreed. "We will always be there for you." 

I looked over at Aleks who was looking at me. His eyes were red. He wasn't crying but he was definitely on the verge of it. I stepped closer and he stood up from his chair. 

"I'll talk to you when you get home." He simply said as he walked out the door and we all heard the office door slam.

Eddie stood up, "He's going to take this the hardest..." Everyone agreed and I just sighed. 

"I'm going to go home and talk to him. I will talk to you all later. Thank you for listening to me and being so understanding." Next thing you knew I was running towards my car and speeding off towards Aleks and I's home.
