I knew that Katherine was going to be mad, but, this is ridiculous.

"Daddy I don't wanna go back, I wanna stay here with Abuela and my friends and Ada! I wanna stay with Ada! Daddy please!" Damon had been crying over this for the last week, and somehow Katherine had just been objecting with silence.

"Damon, come here bab-"

"No! I don't like papa anymore! I want Daddy to stay here with me a sissy!" He yelled, gripping onto Keith's side.

Keith on the other hand was tiredly helping me pack up the last few things n the rental van. We got someone to deliver all our stuff to Garrison storage, but Keith thought that would be better than leaving the house full to be broken into and to get dirty and dusty.

All that was left was a couch that Luis was happily taking back to his room at Mama's house. There were our cases with our clothes, but the Garrison would force us into our space gear and regular uniforms as soon as we were on premises. Katherine also had a few books in her bag to study on the plane ride over.

I decided we should just take a Garrison plane this time, not wanting to worry Keith about the flying any more than he already is.

"Damon, we do not say things like that, go apologize to Papa, this was just as much m idea as mine, you can't pick sides here." Keith let out, pushing another taped box in the truck back.

Damon walked over, leaning into me a little. "Hey, Damon, you know that you are gonna get to hang out with Grandma if we are at the compound. Maybe even Kolivan would be there?" Keith's head shot up with a glare but the little boy was already smiling and energetic again.

"Kitty! Kitty! Granma is gonna be at the compound and papa said that Kolivan might be there, and if he's there he can tell us more about space! And the Galra! And Space!" Damon kept rambling along as Kitty was laid out on the couch, looking at her phone.

She rolled her eyes, pulling her little brother up onto her lap. "Yeah, and it also means I can finally braid back all of your long messy hair." She ruffled up his hair and I smiled, lifting the last box up. Keith pulling shut the truck and sighed, turning back to me.

"You know that Kolivan is not the most responsible babysitter. Neither is my mother if I'm being honest." He rolled his eyes as I just kept smiling. "Whatever, if one of them gets loose and finds you during the middle of an interview or something, blame yourself Mr." Keith stuck his tongue out, quickly running inside as I chased after him.

"Get your Daddy!" I yelled out, earning a squeal from Damon, and a oof from Kitty.

Keith finally tripped over his own feet, landing on the floor with me on top of him, Damon and Kitty close behind. "No! I beg for mercy!" Keith yelled as Damon started tickling him.

I grabbed Damon up off of him, Kitty laughing as she helped her father up. Keith smiled, then seeing the look on my face, nodding. "Kids, can we go sit down outside. I really need to explain a few things before we get on the plane tomorrow." Kitty looked more worried than ever now, and Damon nuzzled into my chest a little bit more. We walked out in the tall grass, sitting down in a circular stomped patch of it. "So, we've had these talks before, but I always do them." I nodded to Keith for him to continue on.

"Your Papa and I are going to be spending about a month in pre-training for our flight, and our other free time might end up being held for reporters and interviews.  Your Grandma and Kolivan will be looking after you for the most part, but I anything happens or you end up needing another adult I want you going to Teo Veronica, and if she really isn't available I want you to go to Uncle James, you know where his office is. If he isn't there either, you wait in his office till either he comes back, or I come get you, okay?" Keith looked towards out two children.

I didn't like the fact, but it was a fact. James Griffin was the new cadet commander for the GG, so he was the smartest option for our kids to run to if something really did happen. Or if they really wanted to annoy someone. That too.

I saw the two of them nod, Damon slowly making his way to the ground. "And, Kitty, you might be going through a little bit of pre-training, but Dad and I won't know till we touch down at the Garrison. Damon, that means you might have a day or two where it is just you and Grandma." I took a deep breath, taking  Keith's hand in mine. "The last thing, if you, either of you, feel uncomfortable, or uneasy, anything, if you feel a really strong emotion, or you just really need to come see one of us, I want you to. The Garrison has asked that we act totally normal once we get there, so anything, big or little, I want you coming to one of us." Keith smiled down at the ground, Kitty nodding to my words.

"Wait, so I can hang out with Daddy while he works?" Damon asked.

Keith sighed, nodding. "Yes, I guess you could if you really wanted to. But If you hang out with Papa or I and we tell you that you need to be quiet, then you really need to be quiet yeah?" I nod.

"Right." The field starts getting a little chilly and I can see Kitty starting to shiver. "Well, it is our last night in Cuba for a while, who's ready to go over to Abuela's?!" The two cheered, getting up and running off toward the house to get their shoes one.

"Lance?" I turn back to Keith, smiling as I see him looking down at his feet. "You really ready to do this?"

"Ye.. Yeah."
