<Lance POV>

I love Krolia, so much, she's a good person, but having her breathing down my neck every time I cook, every time I clean, every time I take a second of peace to myself! And then Kolivan swooping in and spending all of my free time with my son, so I just end up doing chores or more work for the GG, it is exhausting. I just want to sit down with my family, my family of four, and have a nice meal.

And fo course the Garrison thought it would just be better for the two for all of us to share a compound together,  just one big happy family. Keith of course thought it was the best idea ever, more time with his mom, I get it. But Kolivan needs to step off.

It's only been two days, and the only time I've had with Damon was because he packed his stuffy up in the truck. Well, the truck got here this morning, so I guess he'll be back to his room now.

That'll give Keith a better nights sleep though. Whenever one of the kids sleeps with us he always has to stay up till they fall asleep, and he'll wake up in the middle of the night to check on them. When they were younger he would make sure, even if they weren't sleeping with us, that at 2 am or 3 am that they were still asleep, and at peace.

The only reason I knew about it was because the first few nights he would wake up, all excited, wake me up and be like "Hey, wanna go check on the kids?" And I said sure, but I wanted to say no, I wanna go back to sleep. And he just kept doing it.

He is such a light sleeper, which is the opposite for me. He is the only one I wake up for, and even that is a stretch sometimes. But every time I went to use the bathroom, or to get some water, he would up and at um, ready to help, asking is I was okay or if I heard something. I mean, I love how much he cares, and how worried he is when it comes to the kid.

I presume that his father was a little more worrisome than his mother, because Krolia did not care. Lasers, the Bayard's, other weapons, the oven, leaving the doors open! The first time she watched Kitty I almost had a heart attack. Yet he comes Keith, giggling at how little his mother really knew about humans, especially human children. He would sometimes talk about it, and it would be funny.

He would talk about how if his father could've seen this, how he would've been chasing after Krolia, teaching her how to do everything. Correcting ever little thing. He also talked about how he couldn't imagine what it was like when he was a kid. It's not like his dad had any brothers or sisters, so how would he know anything about kids, and then pair him with a women how after semi raising or at least having a child till has minimal to zero knowledge on how to raise one.

I do understand why Keith wants his mom and Kolivan in his life. Same reason why he wants Shiro in his life. Keith didn't get role models in his child hood, not ones he could be with. Then Shiro ended up getting the Garrison to ward him and his only Role Model became his mentor. His mom and largest male influence in his young adult life, both of them were just as important as Shiro would ever be. Especially after all  Blade of Marmora stuff that happened.

The three of them are still looking for members. They get new ones now, but the old ones who were suspected to be dead, some are being found at the corners of the universe. Most were found on community  plaque graves, their names scattered about. It took Kolivan and Krolia years, but they finally found all of the Blades of those fallen hero's, knowing that in the wrong hands they could be used for evil.

The only reason I didn't like those blades was because my little girl could hold one someday.

The reason we are going to a new Earth, the reason we are scoping it out is because the Garrison is worried about another attack. Because if that happens, we can't just die out. Our race can't just die out. And the worlds population is no longer a problem sadly thanks to the Fire of Purification all those years back. 15, almost 16 years ago. They think that moving half of the population who were willing to leave would be good for the  world, have a second, ready at all times base. And once both populations reach what right now we are calling Max, which is where we are now, then, we'll find two more planets.

I had a nice long discussion with James about how our world couldn't possibly be at Max population after the travesty, but, he explained.

"Lance, our world could fit over 10 billion people on it, with trouble, yes, but it could do it. Right now we have 5.4 Billion people on this planet, we used to be at 7.2 billion. If 2.7 billion people move, then the resources, natural and man made, will start replenishing. We can take full countries and make then into forest utopias for the animals and wild life. With smaller populations we can also run the whole world on solar, wind, and water generated electricity while we keep working on nuclear energy at a larger scale than ships and trains. Jobs will be more consistent, the worlds politics will be easier to manage. And, when children leave home, and they go to college or the Garrison, it lets their parents know  that they will be going somewhere safe. Inhabited. Your parents already trust us Lance, and Keith's are... well, Aliens, more importantly Galra. The day they object to Keith in space is the day I buy my daughter the statue of liberty."

And then a few days ago, our talk...

"Lance I trust you, with a full heart I do, but the world needs to also. You do this mission and I have you back over here in less than a year, you take Keith and your kids, you move down to the nice compounds in Cuba, you and Keith go and teach for a few years, doesn't have to be right away, you both retire, get yourselves a few grandkids, and you have a nice calm life. You know that if Iverson hadn't banded them from Garrison machinery I would have Shiro and Adam going up with you. But, Lance, I know you can do it. You really were strong back in the academy, and when you guys disappeared, I got really worried, you sister almost killed me after thinking that I had a grudge against you or something. You really need to spend time with your kid, as a parent I know that. So, take the mission seriously, get Keith on board, and tell him the details. Krolia already knows and Kolivan didn't want to. He said he was just here because his boys were here. As soon as you launch, you will be star captain, Keith being Second, Krolia being third, and your daughter being Fourth, but it should never come to that. All the other details are ones that we can go over in more detail as those details come in. Go home, get some rest, and be back tomorrow morning. I want a paper on my desk by Friday about the new hydro-farms you've been talking about, trying to get those bad boys done before we launch you guys, better for the media to see a little bit of everything you know? I talk to you later."

And so...

I guess...

I'm ready
