~The Hidden~

Forming inside your gem, everything is shinny, and you're caught in the web. The future to everything was inside of you, and you well knew you could control it. You could control anything in that web, as long as you knew how to. Your power wasn't meant for play. You look around some more, unable to move. Stuck on a string, frozen, as long as you were in your gem you couldn't move. Frozen in time, unable to exist in the present. Only a very small web floating above you. The only choices you had inside your gem. One string was how long you were going to be in your gem, another was the outfit you chose, another was your shatter date if you stayed in your gem too long.

You slowly touch a random string, and everything goes bright. Suddenly, voices.

"There she is! Finally awake!"

"Ah! W-where am I?!" you look around, tall trees surrounding you. The sky was a dark blue, covered in white puffy clouds floating above.

"You're on Earth! Hahahha!" A small green Dorito said leaning over you. "Isn't it wonderful!"

You could tell, there was something off about her. She was too small for a Peridot. Her limb attachments were pink instead of green like her. Everyone else seemed a little off too. Either they had multicolored outfits or just plain pink ones.

"Where did she come from exactly?" a low voice said in the distance.

You looked around, still confused.

"We found her gem when all the gems cleared the platform. We don't know who she is but-"

"Look!" a Lapis Lazuli flew over to you, her facial expression full of rage. "Her outfit has the White Diamond symbol on it! She's White Diamond's Sapphire, how could you mistake her for a Crystal Gem?"

"Wait, you guys are Crystal Gems?" you ask, and realizing that you were in the middle of the Crystal Gem's base. You quickly get up, about five gems are surrounding you. Using your future vision you fond out that these gems were the main four, way before Pink Diamond was bubbled. A Ruby, a Pearl, an Amethyst, and a Peridot. The 'Rose Quartz' was missing. The Lapis Lazuli didn't fall in the Main Four category. "I must return to my Diamond."

"Well you're Diamond is long gone!" the Peridot said, jumping up and down. "Guess you gotta stay here!" she said, suddenly running away.

"Wait I- what planet are we on?" you asked, though you already knew.

"Earth," Ruby said. "We thought you were a Crystal Gem, there are just so many of us now."

You nod. "Okay, well, I won't bother you guys," you turn around and stand there for a few long moments.

"...uh. What are you doing?" Pearl asked.

"I'm trying to float away. But I can't for some reason-"

"Your gem is cracked," Amethyst said, approaching you. "We can fix it at Ro-Pink's fountain."

"She has a fou- to heal gems in the war?" you ask.

No one answered you, you were grabbed by your arm and dragged to a nearby warp pad.

"I wanna come too!" Peridot shouted.

"No," Lapis Lazuli said, the one who grabbed you arm. "You stay here and help Pearl patrol."

Just like your future said, hundreds of rose petals fell from the sky. They danced in the air and hit the ground.

"It's just down here," Lapis said, walking barefoot over the petals.

"Tell me. Why did you join the Crystal Gems?" you asked. But she didn't answer. She speed walked to the fountain and pointed to it.

"Just jump in."

As you walked around Earth for a bit you found more and more gems. They were all living freely, perfectly fine living with no mission ahead of them.

"Thank you," you finally say. "But I must be reporting to Homeworld-"

"Now before you leave..." strong arms lifted you up, making you face to face with a giant grayish gem with rainbow hair. "What's wrong with Rose?"

Bismuth's web was odd, full of broken strings and some of those strings had small webs in them. Her future and present were all mixed up. But it seemed to be going on like that for years. But the word Rose made some strings break. "Rose... Pink Diamond is just not reforming. I haven't looked into her future yet. I'm sure the Diamonds are going into that now."

Bismuth dropped you.

"Watch it! She just fixed her gem!" Lapis called in the background.

A question raced through your mind before you floated away. "Why do you guys stay here?"

There was a long pause as if she should already know. "We can be whoever we want," Bismuth said, walking past you. "Rose Quartz taught us that. She taught us that we can fight against our creators and-"

"Okay, okay, enough with the speeches, Bismuth," Amethyst said. "You aren't him. Stop acting like you're the leader around here."

Bismuth spun around, eyeing the runt. "And what? You think you could rule the Crystal Gems? Only a Quartz can!"

"You mean only a Diamond!" Amethyst snapped back. "Why can't you just face it! Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond.

"Nonsense!" Bismuth slammed her fist at the ground where Amethyst once was, but dodged out of the way. "Just because her gem looks like a Pink Diamond, doesn't mean she is. Now, I know Steven had a vision, and I know he is his mother, but maybe the vision was wrong? There are so many theories... like maybe Pearl made herself believe she didn't rebel against her Diamond, making her think Rose was Pink all along!"

Everyone rolled their eyes. It was so obvious the Bismuth was having trouble, but it was you who was having trouble. You weren't alive during the time of the great war, or when Pink Diamond was pronounced shattered, or when Steven confessed he's really Pink Diamond, or when Pink Diamond was punished and the little war right after. It was all just a story to you, and everyone's emotions about this whole thing seemed to fade away. But nobody on Homeworld had the same emotions as the Crystal Gems. At least the ones who refused to stay on Homeworld. They were all waiting, even the Crystal Gems still on Homeworld were still waiting, even though they didn't consider themselves a Crystal Gems anymore. Everyone was waiting, and after what just happened, you didn't realize how terrible it was.
