~On the Run~

"Damn for a Sapphire you're pretty fast!" the Amethyst said catching up with you.

"Sh-shut up! Where- where are the oth-others?" you said, finding it difficult to run and talk at the same time.

"Over here," Amethyst made a slight turn and you followed here, ignoring your Diamond's shouts from behind.

You pick up the pace, your little legs feel like they're on fire, maybe because you've never ran before. There was never a reason to. You were always protecting. Suddenly you feel yourself being lifted by strong arms, and carried the rest of the way. You didn't realize how long she was carrying you for until you realized the fourth sun was setting.

"I-It's going to get da-rk!" you call to the Amethyst carrying you.

"I- I know!" The Amethyst set you down and looked around. "They have to be around here somewhere."

You sigh. "So... what do I do now?"

"What? You think I know?"

"Aren't you like a run-away too? You were a rebel for 6,000 years before the Diamonds agreed with you guys."

"Hm. You're right. But you're on your own," then Amethyst thought for a second and smiled. "Or... how about you join us?"

"Wa- the Crystal Gems?! No! I could never do that to my Diamond," you said, shaking your hands in fro nnnt of your face.

"From what just happened, I don't think you have a Diamond anymore," Amethyst joked. "But why not? It's not like we're hiding from the Diamonds anymore. And besides, we can hide you so easily."

You think about it for a second. Your whole life you've been loyal to the Diamonds. Why? Because they created you. Shouldn't you follow their orders? They gave you life. But than again, what's the point of giving life if you're just going to be a bitch to them. You grab Amethyst's hand she held out. "Fine."

"Wonderful!" the Amethyst jumped up and down like a child. "Jade will be very happy to see you. She's always looking for new members!" Amethyst grabbed your hand and dragged you deeper into the woods.

"Who... who is Jade?" you ask, and quickly your question is answered.

"Hellooooooo friend Amethyst!" a light green gem swung on the trees above, landing on the hard ground below you. "Where did you go on this gorgeous day?"

Amethyst smiled, you couldn't tell if it was real or fake. "Just went to see how Homeworld is doing. Not good."

Jade sighed. "Well, that's not good for them is it?" she suddenly did a back flip over a small pond ahead. "But we don't need to fright, come along!" she turned around and ran away.

You watched in awe how fast she could run. "She's wild, isn't she?"

Amethyst began walking. "She likes the new body."

"Excuse me?"

There was a long pause between you two. Then Amethyst said, "Some gems can be placed on human bodies to give the human life like them. Like us with our gems. Expect their gemstone is placed on the human and gives them life until they die or the gem is shattered. When someone dies and is buried, the gem has to wait until the skin, muscle, fat, and whatever is around it depending on where it is, is gone to reform," Amethyst shuddered.

"I heard that from the humans when I went to Earth. Why would we agree to do something like this?" you ask, almost tripping over a stick.

"We never did," Amethyst says. "We had a few-"

"Amethyst!" someone ran up to you two.

"Lapis!" they both hugged, and you watched uncomfortably as you felt like the third wheel.

"How is Homeworld? Are they still the sa-" the Lapis looked down at you. "...You're back?"

You feel like all eyes are on you expect nobody else is around but Jade. You couldn't think of anything to say as you eye Amethyst. "Well, she's part of us now. She ran from her Diamond and-"

"I didn't run from her," you say. "I was just scared and ran."

"Okay? Same thing," Lapis Lazuli said. "Either way I'm sure your Diamond wants you dead."

Your roll you eye though nobody can see it. "You're right. Maybe. But White Diamond is bipolar I think," you remembered how she turned into some sort of corruption. The red thick liquid, that's a sign. Like sometimes when gems are severely cracked their gems leaks a thick liquid some what lighter than the actual gem color. But red is darker than white. But everyone does say White Diamond is something else, maybe they don't mean she's not a Diamond but it never made sense. It never did to anybody though. It seemed like the Diamonds didn't understand either.

You felt a pit at the bottom of your stomach when Jade jumped in front of you suddenly. "Amethyst? Are ya coming?"

"We are," Lapis said.

Jade crossed her arms and snarled. "The meeting is only for the original Crystal Gems."

"Oh, and you're one of the originals? Please, you're a human-"

"Shut up Lazuli!" Jade snapped, glaring at her. "Not anymore, you mean?"

Lapis rolled her eyes. "I'll see you later."

"-and then I grabbed the human and snapped his neck like this!" The large gem made a rough motions with her arms. "And he stopped moving! Drop dead!"

The gem around her laughed harshly, rasing cups filled to the top. "Aoi! We are fragial!"

You eyed the human up and down, he reminded you of Zakhar. Oh.

"Why are there humans on Homeworld?" You asked.

"Some are Crystal Gems. Some just wanna be free too of something called responsibility," Amethyst said, following Jade somewhere.

You decided to stay and watch the few humans play around with the gems. As you scanned the crowd, you saw the Ruby that beat you up. They don't care what type of Gem you are. You took a deep breath and approached her. You tapped her shoulder quickly and she spun around.

"What do y- oh. You again? Do you really think you can get past me?" Ruby said.

"Don't need to," you tried to cross your arms like she was doing, but failed. "I'm a Crystal Gem."

It took a few seconds for the Ruby to process it. "Ack, what made you change your mind?"

"I ran away... sorta..." You say seeing some other gem eying you.

"Oh really? You?" Ruby scans you. "Well, in that case- I'm Ruby," she stuck her hand out she she didn't beat the shit out of you a few days.
