Satisfied, I walk back to work to my car.
"Meredith!" Emma jogs up to me. "Hey are you ok? I saw Harry walk you out."
"I'm fine." I smile.
"Here, he left this." She hands me his binder.
"Oh. Ok, thanks." I take it from her, before saying goodbye and heading to my car. Curious, I open the binder. It's filled with scrawled writing, and I squint at a page.
'I want you here with me
Like how I pictured it
So I don't have to keep imagining
Come on, jump out at me
Come on, bring everything
Is it too much to ask for something great?'
They seem to be song lyrics, and they're good. I gently tear the whole page out, only to discover that the one behind it has the music written in. I rip out that one as well, then close the binder and sit it on the passenger seat, starting the car and driving home. On the way there I stop at McDonalds to bring home lunch for my siblings and I. When I reach my street I groan at the black Range Rover sitting in front of my house. Once I pull into the driveway I watch him get out of his car, and walk up to mine.
"What do you want?" I get out. I let out a little gasp as he pushes me against my car.
"I want to remind you that you're mine." He collects my wrists in his hands, holding them to my sides, before leaning down to suck my neck. "You're fucking mine." He hisses, sucking and nipping the skin.
"Stop." I struggle against him, but he simply presses his whole body against mine. "Let me go!" I huff.
He pulls his head back enough to admire the hickey he's given me. "We're going out on Saturday."
"No wa-"
He pushes into me, suffocating me between his body and my car. He towers over me, and the familiar feeling of fear returns. "I'll be here at 7:00."
"Harr-"
I whine in pain as he gives my neck a harsh suck. "I'm starving, we're going to get lunch."
"I can't." I say angrily.
He brushes his crotch up against mine. "You're coming."
I nod once. "Just let me take the food inside. Your binders in my front seat."
He lets me slide away from him, and I bring the bag of McDonalds into the house.
"Hey Mere!" Hannah chirps.
"Hey. Here's food for you two. Put the large fries in the fridge for me. I'm going out, I'll be back in a few hours." I fake a smile.
"Ok." She smiles back.
I leave the house, finding Harry leaning up against his car with his binder in his hand.
"Did you read it?" He asks as I approach.
"No." I lie.
"Good. Get in." He opens the door and I climb in. I feel all my power and confidence disappear as I realize how much stronger he is physically. Harry doesn't speak the whole way, and neither do I. He drives us to the mall.
As we walk into the building, Harry holds my waist securely as if insuring I don't run off.
I flash back to the last time we were at the mall, and sigh.
