Lindsey's POV
Dae dragged me until I couldn't catch my breath anymore. My lungs were burning and I felt my heart beating faster than I could ever imagine. We burst out through one of the small doors to the patio outside. The cold air hit me. The concrete underneath my feet was harsh and reminded me of a modern estate. Dae's arm was clutching mine hard. His eyes wild with terror when he looked up at me.
"Can you run further?" He said. "We are nearly there. Just up the stairs now."
I nodded quickly although I could feel the deficiency of oxygen. I wasn't used to running so fast for so long. I didn't understand why we were running and where too. But judging by the look in Dae's eyes it was something very important and dangerous. The glass steps were slippery. I watched my feet as. I sped forward. I felt the muscles in Dae's arm, his hands they were strong and gentle. I lost myself in thoughts and my foot slipped on one of the narrow steps. I fell but I quickly got up since I was pulled by his arms upward, lifting me up.
"You okay?" He sounded worried although it wasn't serious, I just tripped.
"I'm fine just didn't look at my feet for a moment and lost concentration, let's keep going."
Finally we reached a small chamber, obviously it was filled with glass figures and statues. Along the wall were glass chairs. Three of them with thick legs and back. Daewon gestured for me to sit down and himself walked into the small room on the right. I felt the silence around me. I hated being alone actually. It was uncomfortable. I heard voices through the wall, echoing and vibrating. The minutes felt like hours. My eyes were bored, three was nothing I this place. Just blank glass or white walls. I traced the zipper of my boots. It was a straight stich going from my ankle to my knee, in ink black thread.
The door opened and I immediately looked at Daewon for reassurance that everything is fine, instead I found myself staring at his pale green face and emotionless expression.
"I'll be right back," He said taking me by the shoulders and squeezing them gently. "I promise."
He sighed and hurried out the door. I stood up my eyes observing him as he ran up the stairs.
"If he promised he will be here. He's a good guy."
Said an elderly man, also dressed in a white suit. He smiled at me and went back to his office.
I stood in the window watching the patio which in a very small amount of time filled with people all dresses in white uniforms. I watched them for a while. They seemed calm enough except the woman dressed in a silver dress with a thick belt and wavy short hair. She was everything but not calm. She eyed everyone carefully before marching out of my view on her high heel boots.
I was looking out the window for a long time. In the distance I saw a construction that looked like a bridge. It was high and had some pillars. Closer to the place where I was standing were barbed wire cage-like structures that blocked the view. Just then the door opened and Daewon ran in and embraced me in a hug whispering
"Its okay. Don't worry, I'm here. You will be safe"
His pupils were thin, adrenaline rushed through s veins. I didn't understand the words when he spoke them. It was rathe confusing, but I stood there while he hugged me and inhaled the smell of his cologne. When he let go his face looked worried but hopeful.
"We have to get out of here" he said. But here ment where?
