WHY ME?

CHAPTER 5: EXPECTED AS ALWAYS.

"How dare you touch her", Jace spoke as he held Adam's collar exposing the anger he was feeling.

"Who the fuck are you to tell me who to touch", Adam replied "and as far as I know she isn't your property so why not have some fun", he gave me an awful gaze and winked with his hazel brown eyes which were red-rimmed due to excessive alcohol consumption.

Well things didn't end well, Jace flipped out and started throwing punches at Adam repeatedly. I had so many questions running through my mind how did Jace get here and why would he punch Adam for me they were known to be very good friends but the way Jace vented his anger out on Adam it surely seems something must have happened between them. All I could notice was Jace's veins visible all around his Hands but at this moment I had to get my shit together and stop Jace.

"Let go of him please he'll die", I pleaded to him while trying to pull him of Adam but his grip on Adam was very tight.

"I can't let this asshole die so easily", he replied.

What for the first time ever Jace spoke back to me without ignoring me. What on earth did Adam do that Jace was so furious about.

"Here comes prince charming fighting for her love", Adam said while he tried to grasp for air.

Jace gave Adam a punch straight in the eye and soon blood formed beneath his eyes flowing like an unstoppable stream.I cupped my hands around Jace's face and made his eyes meet mine. His hazel eyes which had become a darker shade filled with anger, how much I wanted to kiss his lips which he kept on biting.

"Please leave him alone", I said as tears started falling from my eyes.

Jace's face hardened in concentration towards me and didn't say anything for a blink of a seconds. He grabbed my hands, pulling me out of the room and didn't let go of me until we reached out the house making our way towards the Porch. We bumped into people as we tried to make our way out but no one noticed anything that had happened everyone seemed to be in their own world.

"Are you fine?", Jace asked not making his gaze meet mine.

"Yes, I'm okay", I replied. Though I wasn't.

"Get in the car I'll drop you home".

"I can't I had to drive Emma back home", I replied.

"Go get Emma and give me her car keys".

"OMG, is that Jace and Eliana together"

we both wondered who the hell it was, we turned and there she was a drunk Emma who couldn't even balance herself."Is there some party here that I wasn't invited for", Emma spoke as she made her way to us taking baby footsteps.I helped Emma get in the car before someone noticed us.I had gone through a crisis and here I was being excited to have Jace sited beside me for the first time.

"So Jace when are you planning to take Eliana on a date", Emma spoke. 

I turned to look at Jace but his eyes were fixed on the road and didn't react to what Emma said. At this moment I wanted to punch Emma but controlled myself.

"First comes date,marriage and the best part babies then imagine how your babies would look", she spoke excitedly and unthinkably due to drinking excessive alcohol . One more thing Jace, Emma spoke while he didn't bother giving her his attention  "Eliana lo...",  "Emma could you shut up",I spoke cutting her before she blabbers more.
Jace turned to look at me but quickly turned his face when I looked back at the front.

"Okay, mommy!".

The car ride was pretty quiet, Jace didn't say a word expect he let a small smile cross his face when Emma cracked the baby joke but it quickly vanished when I glanced at him.

"Here you go", Jace handed the keys to me and helped Emma get inside the house.

Before I could even say anything Jace walked away without even telling me bye. Wtf was I even expecting him to give me a kiss let's just say he was back to being arrogant Jace. Whatever happened today with Adam, Jace it was hard to sink in it's like everything was a dream but if it wasn't for Jace I would be ruined today.

"Hey bitch", I heard Emma say as I removed books from the locker.I pretended I didn't hear and walked off.

"Attitude no problem", She said as she followed me.

"Do you know on a scale of 1 to 10 how much I wanna punch you".

"hmm zero", Emma replied giving me a big smile.

"What did I do", she asked.

"Do you even remember what you were blabbering on Saturday night when Jace dropped us home", I asked Emma.

"Bitch what, Jake dropped us", she replied.

"Yeah", I replied in a irritated tone. and with that I slapped her.

"Ouch, what was that for", she spoke while scratching her face.

"for almost letting Jace know I liked him".

Emma started laughing "Did I really do that, Well I'm sorry but this is funny and you can't blame me I was drunk"

I started laughing too cause I was embarrassed by what had happened. Emma and I didn't fight a lot but when we did we would make up right away. I decided not to tell Emma what Adam did to me on that night, she would take action against him and I wasn't ready for more drama I was going through enough in my life.
The day passed by really quick though neither Jace or Adam came to school which was weird. Will I be able to look at Jace again and thank him or  expected as always he would walk away pretending that I was invisible to him.

It's now or never Eliana I kept on telling myself as I made my way to Jace to thank him. Every step I took towards him gave me chills.

"He-hey  Jace", stammering the words I spoke.

"Hey", he replied not bothered and pined his attention on his phone.

"I wanna thank you for...", before I could even finish my sentence Jace cut me off, "You don't have too, I just happened to be in the washroom and heard someone scream".

"Babe there you are", I turned to have a glimpse of who it would be and I saw "Nancy", running towards Jace  and placed a long kiss on Jace's lips trying to grab my attention. Nancy was Anne's best friend and Jace's next target I guess.
I walked away to class having my heart broken again which was one sided as always. What an ass he is  all I wanted to say was a thank you but he surely put me on my spot again I was nothing but an invisible person to him.

"Settle down people", our history teacher spoke as he placed his books on the table.

"Someone kill me", Emma said banging her head on the desk. Emma always got drained out when it was last period especially if we had history.

"Before I begin my class I would like to remind everyone we will be having two tests coming up and this time it won't be done in groups instead done in pairs", he said in a firm voice. "One more thing you guys don't get to choose who to be with I do".

The whole class started chattering cause this means everyone will be separated from their friends. Mr. Wilson started taking names of the pairs and ignored everyone, I was anxious to know who I was going to be with, the tests were like projects you had to do with your partner and each project would take 2-3 weeks to be completed it needed lots of information to be collected.

"Eliana can you bring your mind back to class", Mr. Wilson spoke and the whole class burst out into laughter.

"Coming back to the point, you and Jace are going to be partners for the two coming tests".

"WHAT", we both said at the same time and shared a short glance with each other.
