It's mostly baby steps honestly. They went on a couple of dates together, always with Hoseok tagging along, watching over them like a guard dog. Or a parent joining their teenage child on a first date to make sure everyone keeps their hands to themselves. Maybe it's a good thing that he does. Not because they wouldn't have been able to keep their hands to themselves, but having someone else tag along makes the conversation easier. More casual. Hoseok is good at making conversation when Seokjin and Namjoon are just awkwardly looking at each other without saying a word. Yoongi kind of started tagging along as well. Because "it get's boring having to hang out alone all the time". At this point it honestly feels like they are on a double date. Which is also fine. Somehow Namjoon and Seokjin have slipped into the role of the watching parents by now. Making sure to always invite Yoongi and Hoseok along when they are going out anywhere. Sometimes Namjoon is sure that Seokjin only agrees to go on dates with him because it gives him an excuse to invite Hoseok along and make him happy. It's still not really official but at this point not even stone cold Min Yoongi can deny that he has feelings for Hoseok that maybe go beyond wanting to take him home every now and again. At least they are getting their happy end. Namjoon is happy for his friends, he really is. But sometimes he's also jealous. Because he wishes things with Seokjin could be easier. Actually, he should be thankful just for the fact that they are trying. That alone is probably already a lot to ask. But he can't help but wish for things to be easier sometimes. Then again, most of the time Namjoon is already happy with what he has. Every time he learns something new about Seokjin, every time he opens up a bit more, it feels like a step forward. And it's mostly baby steps, but it's enough.

And Namjoon has soon found himself also falling in love with Seokjin over and over again. For his absolutely terrible puns, for his loud and obnoxious laugh that Namjoon can't get enough of, for his weird little habits and his general awkwardness. There is so much to Seokjin that is worth loving and having the chance to get to know him again like this feels like a privilege after everything that happened.

They are standing in front of a karaoke bar right now. Hoseok and Yoongi are holding hands, covered by the long sleeves of Yoongi's dark jacket and Namjoon and Seokjin look at them fondly like the proud parents they are. They have been standing outside for maybe ten minutes or so already, just talking and hanging out casually. It feels nice, despite the cold night air crawling under Namjoon's skin and the sky slowly turning from dark grey to black Namjoon has no desire to go home any time soon. He could just stand next to Seokjin and watch him smile while he chats with Hoseok for hours. Sadly not everyone seems to feel the same way about this as Namjoon does.

"I guess we should head back", Yoongi mutters, checking the time on his phone with his free hand. Namjoon smiles a little at the way Yoongi said we. It's clear that he is not referring to them as a group but just to Hoseok and himself. Still Namjoon resits the temptation to point it out. He'll leave that to Seokjin.

"Oh, are you two going home together?", he asks, suggestively wiggling his eyebrows. Hoseok seems to be embarrassed a little while Yoongi just rolls his eyes. Maybe that is one of the most amazing things about Seokjin, the way he is able to bicker with Yoongi as if they have known each other for years. The fact that Yoongi – stone cold fuck the system rebel Min Yoongi – never dares to tell Seokjin to shut up. Maybe it's because Seokjin is older and the last ounce of respect that is left in Yoongi doesn't dare to disrespect him. Maybe it's because Yoongi too feels sorry for what happened. And maybe it's just because Seokjin is Seokjin and it's way too easy to be charmed by him.

"We're just walking in the same direction", Yoongi mutters. No one bothers pointing out that Hoseok and Yoongi don't even live remotely in the same direction because everyone knows. Seokjin laughs. A softer, more bubbly laugh.
