The sun was descending among the horizon. In the midst of the season of Fall, a gentle breeze rolled over the building. The open area in the center of the building, which played as a courtyard for the base created a dive in the winds travel, causing the wind to whistle and hiss as it went by. It was only audible though by IQ, who sat by her lonesome. Her blonde hair gently shivered at the wind, a lock just grazing her eye. She brushed it aside, as she sat with her legs crossed.

Her hands were in her lap. She still had her gym uniform on, green clothes and all but her hair was down. She had let it grow out so it ran just passed her shoulders.

Footsteps approached, and she looked over, before her stood none other than Jäger himself.

He still had his helmet on, and his face hidden behind his own balaclava.

IQ inhaled sharply, looking away. Jäger was a few feet away, but closed the distance, nearly hovering over her. She continued to look away, her eyes on the sun which hid behind their base. Light streamed over it and the sky was a deep, lively orange.

"Tonight, the GSG must meet for joint training. We face the Spetsnaz in a match of CQC." His tone was its usual orderly one. Almost monotone. IQ felt her hands clench at the sound of his voice.

"Yes, sir..." She managed to mutter.

Expectant of him to leave, she turned, but instead he still stood, looking directly down at her. Her mouth parted, but nothing came. Jäger walked over and took a seat next to her.

IQ watched him, scooting as far as she could away from him.

"I hope you still aren't displeased with before..." Jäger rested his elbows on his knees as he sat forward.

IQ could only frown, and look away. Because if she answered him another argument would surely spark.

Jäger noticed, and looked to her. "You understand why right?"

As the last word left his mouth, IQ gave in. "So what? You can be gone the next day and regret so much not doing what you want to. Even if you don't love me, at least give me one day with you. I just want one day to try and be normal, love someone like anyone should."

Jäger shook his head, words fighting their way out. "Its not that simple Monika. We have a job...A relationship would only cause strife-"

IQ sat up straight now, glaring at him. "I don't care. Is there a rule that says we can't be together? Or is that something you just wrote for yourself? Do you care so much about your position here you ignore me because of it? You just rejecting me because of our job is not how I want this to end." Her voice was starting to tremble in tone.

"Damnit Monika, that's not it!" He stood up abruptly, as did IQ. "Then what is it?!" Tears began to well in her eyes.

Jäger couldn't look at her, her blue eyes were usually so calming, but they only expelled pain and accusation. He shook his head several times, trying to avoid giving her the truth.

IQ's eyes were piercing him, monumental guilt building on his being. "Fine, you're partially right. I can't just take a relationship because we have a job to do..." IQ inhaled once more, even more sharply.

"But it's also because, I just don't feel the same about you. There is one thing for sure Monika, you are a beautiful woman; but I cannot bother with something like a relationship right now. I am the leader of this CTU. Everyday I spend making myself, my ADS, and our team, better."

IQ's eyes were searching for a response within him. She just couldn't believe the words coming out of his mouth.

"I'm sorry, but I care more about my duty, than I do your feelings. Unless it comes to be a problem out in the field, it's not my problem. You as an operator should think the same." He started to walked passed her, her head was downward, in a defeated stance.
