~ The morning was slow, and above all busy. 2IC was slumped in a chair inside Doc's office. Doc was sitting across from him in a similar chair, with a clipboard in his hands.

2IC was blinking slowly, a gnawing headache coming to haunt him from last night. Every so often, he would raise a hand to his head, groaning.

Doc was writing down the results of his physical exam, as well as his blood tests; but upon noticing 2IC's lack of attentiveness, spoke on it.

"You've been drinking, what were you doing last night?" Doc looked up from his clipboard, in which 2IC closed his eyes, leaning his head to the side. He had his bandanas on, but his glasses put away for a check on his eyes.

Doc shook his head. "You should be a bit more serious about your job. You don't seem so stressed, so you must have went out last night for a good time." He paused, glancing up at 2IC for an affirmative action.

2IC only remained silent, raising both arms to cover his face. He groaned upon the gnawing ache that crushed his head.

"Understand that we need you focused for the mission ahead. If Six saw this you would definitely be fined, or punished." Doc tapped the back of his fingers on the front of the board.

"Well, I guess you're lucky she isn't around anymore." He set the clipboard on the counter next to him.

"Ah Kuzimu..." (Ah hell...) The thought of Six angry. He never seen her mad, but what could she do to him if she was? Thinking about it only made his head hurt worse, a subtle groan rumbled in his throat.

"Try not to think so hard, you might end up hurting yourself." Doc was writing up a report, and opened a cabinet above to grab a single pill from a bottle.

He also pulled a water bottle from a mini fridge he kept, and wheeled over in his chair to give him both.

"Prends le, and take care friend."

(Take it.)

2IC held a pill in one hand, and a water in the other, and tossed one into the other as he stood up. He and Doc shook hands, and the Congolese man left his office.

Dokkaebi was headed immediately to the briefing room in which she was ordered to be in.

"Hey Grace!" A voice came from behind, and the woman was met with a warm smile from Echo who caught up with her.

"Just wanted to tell you good luck."

Dokkaebi sighed, as if the words eased her tension.

"Thanks Masaru." Her eyes wandered for a second, and she lunged onto Echo, who was surprised to have her arms around him.

He accepted it, hugging his friend back with the same vigor.

"You got this, and remember not to tear the new guy apart out there." The two released each other

"You act like I'm going to hurt him..." she rolled her eyes.

~Minutes later, in the briefing room~

Dokkaebi was sitting down in a seat, arms crossed and fingers tapping her arm. It had been 10 minutes past the meeting time, and he was still not there, even operators who Dokkaebi did not know would be participating were seated.

'You act like I'm going to hurt him...'

She was starting to regret ever saying that.

Aside from 2IC, another person did show up late. The door opened and Dokkaebi turned to see Maverick enter.

Thermite was standing in front of a projected image, which was of the U.S. map. He appeared to be the one giving their final briefing. Dokkaebi was sitting in front of the table in the very middle of the room, chair turned to face the projection.
