'2IC, to my office immediately.'

The specific operator's callsign echoed across every hall, every room, and every building in the HQ.

No one said a word when Six's voice emitted from the loudspeakers. It was far more vexing than usual, that meant whatever 2IC had done, could be serious.

2IC was in the Armory, respraying his AK to restore its Alpine colored camouflage. He shook the spray can, the singular sound of its inner ball bouncing around within followed by more subtle sprays of paint across his rifle.

He set the can aside hearing his name being called from above.

'What could she want?' He could hear his conscious wonder.

He sighed, setting the can down, and he left his AK to air dry.

Lesion and Frost sat together on the bed of Lesion's. He lied on his back, flicking the sharp end of one of his empty Gu needles. Frost sat at the edge of his bed, drawing on a handbook she had. They both glanced to the speaker above at the announcement. Even Lesion felt a chill crawl up his spine at Six's call for 2IC, Frost looked to Lesion with a worried expression.

"That doesn't sound good." He mentioned.

Frost shook her head.

2IC watched his own boots climb the steps, the confines of his mind, leaving his conscious defenseless against the barrage of negative thoughts and outcomes that could follow.

Reaching the top floor, he approached Six's office, which had her callsign written in bold platinum on the one way glass pane of the mahogany door.

His gloved hand reached for the knob, but his eyes averted upwards to Dokkaebi who opened it from the other side.

She looked to him with an indifferent look. She stepped out, attempting to walk past him.

"You should head inside." She said gesturing to the door. He turned, the door still halfway open, and glanced back to her, but she was already beginning to walk towards the stairs.

He inhaled deeply, then entered the room, and Six was sitting behind her desk, her eyes beaming right at him. He shut the door behind him and Six motioned for him to seat, in which he hesitantly did. She kept a steady stare at him, and he finally broke the seemingly undeterred silence and tension by initiating the conversation.

"What is it Six?"

"For the next few months, a portion of Rainbow will be dedicated to stopping a new threat." She began, she faced the bulletin board, her hands behind her back.

2IC remained silent. Six's lips thinned.

"You are going to be a critical part of this operation. Understand?" She turned, and 2IC adjusted himself in his seat.

"I understand."

A critical part. Why him? He was one the newest operators months ago, nothing more than new blood for the veterans to push around for the next few days.
