I was diving. Diving into a world unknown. I looked around as I dove into the deepest waters. It was empty. Nothing could be seen for miles and miles. The water so dark, it made me see nothing, but I knew I wasn't far from the bottom. Suddenly, a small group of fishes swam right past me and as I dove further, more species of fishes I'd never seen in reality started to appear and soon I was surrounded by them. They all were in a hurry to get away. It confused me beyond knowledge.
In a little while, I had reached the bottom of the ocean. My feet touching the sand as I once again surveyed my surroundings. I turned around and as I did, I felt something hard underneath my feet. I focused my gaze at the seabed and noticed the rubbish lying around in heaps. I bent down and picked up the sickly looking material and examined it. I knew what it was. I used it everyday. It was plastic.
A gasp escaped my lips as I gazed around the ocean floor. Everything was covered with plastic, there was barely any place to walk. Plastic was spread out through the area.. I saw something in the distance and walked over to it.
It was a plastic bag and it was moving. I furrowed my brows as I got closer to it. As I grasped the bag trying to swim through the ocean did I see the fish trapped in it. My eyes widened as I saw the little fish struggling to get out and swim free.
I helped it and tore through the bag. It briskly swam out and away from me.
Reality of what was happening started to dawn on me. I couldn't breath just thinking about it. I tried to take in big gulps of air, but only took water in my mouth. I would die if I didn't get out. My arms started flailing about, because of no oxygen reaching my lungs to breath.
Without notice, I saw something huge and big make its way to me. I gaped at the shark heading my way. Its jaws sharp and bloody. I had to swim up and so with renewed motivation, I forced myself to move upwards.
My body was refusing, but I was still forcing it. I would make it out alive. I sensed the shark on my tail as I saw light simmering through the ocean and I barely made it out alive.
As soon as I was out of water, I took in big gulps of air and as I looked around, I noticed I wasn't alone. I had company of millions of dead fishes. I started hyperventilating and in a flash I was swallowed.
Suddenly, I woke up and I realized what we were doing. We were not evolving, we were destroying. I had only seen a glimpse of Ocean's demise, what would happen when the time came for Earth's demise?
