"Alright, kids!" Mr. Auburn, Dan and Phil's Science teacher yelled after the bell rung and the teenagers began flooding into the hallway. "I don't wanna hear any excuse for not doing your homework tomorrow okay? Have a great day!"

As Dan grabbed his stuff off of the floor under his science desk, he dropped his textbook for tonight's homework. Phil bent down to pick up the book for Dan, but before they knew it their hands were touching. Phil jerked his hand back quickly as a slight blush came to his canvas white cheeks. Dan laughed at Phil's awkwardness, not in a bad way of course. Phil is just too damn cute, Dan thought to himself as him and Phil exited the Science room to head for lunch.

The two walked to Dan's locker to put away his books and folders, Phil preferred to keep them in his backpack that he carried everywhere, so Phil didn't even need his locker. Phil looked at Dan to see him holding his books and folders close to his chest and a smile that showed his lovely dimples. The flower crown was still a bit wilted from when James and his crew beat Dan up a bit. Phil couldn't stand to think that he let Dan get hurt, his responsibility is to watch after Dan and make sure he doesn't get hurt. At least, that's what Phil thinks.

"What's for lunch?" Dan asked as he twirled his locker dial to the correct numbers.

"Salad like always, Pizza, Chicken Nuggs, or Subs," Phil explained as he examined Dan's lip that still looked a little bloody.

As Dan slammed his locker shut, Phil smiled a toothy grin at the brown-eyed boy. Phil had eyes that reminded Dan that everything was alright and safe. As if his eyes were like a calming song that helped you calm down when you were having a panic attack or were really depressed. The eyes of Phil's where like blue beacons for Dan. Before Dan moved to this new school he was bullied before and had nobody to save him. Every day he always had notes that read: 'Fag', 'go kill yourself', 'fags make everything worse', and a bunch of other terrible things. The reason why Dan's parents got a divorce was that Dan's father couldn't accept the fact that his son was gay, even though Dan has no choice of who he loves. Mr. Howell would taunt Dan daily and tell him the same things that people said at his old school. Finally, one day Mr. Howell had struck Dan across the face when Dan called a boy 'hot' when they were out shopping. Dan's mum couldn't handle being married to a man that couldn't accept who Dan was, and that's why they left. But, when Dan's with Phil, he forgets about everything. His past, the rude comments, his dad, everything that has hurt Dan in the past.

"What are you getting?" Dan asked as Phil sat down at a lunch table in the corner of the room.

"I don't know," Phil shrugged as he looked at the group towards the front of the table. "The food is really disgusting here, I usually get Salad." Dan smiled.

As Dan sat down across from Phil, he noticed him staring at the kids at the front of the table. Dan looked at the kids and he could tell that they were really popular and judgemental. There were four teenage boys, two in which Dan has classes with them so far, as well as two girls.

"Phil?" Dan tapped Phil's hand that was placed on the table, scaring him a bit as he had been zoned out. "Who are those people?" Phil laughed a little bit before looking at Dan.

"Those people Dan," Phil began. "Are the snotty jocks and sluts of the school. Just, these six are popular. There are way more sluts than what is on display in front of us right now." Phil explained before he looked back at the group.

Phil doesn't seem to like these people too much. Dan has caught on that Phil is usually too nice and never says a swear word, or says mean things about other people. Well, maybe Dan wasn't all too correct; or maybe they've hurt Phil really bad in the past.
