Dear Evan Hansen,
Life provides weird opportunities for you sometimes, and it can completely go over your head. Some of them are more direct than others. Some of them can fly off the rails and lead to plenty of heartache, or it can do plenty good.
It can even meet in the middle. Everything can go wrong and not as planned, but there's always the budding green plant after a disastrous forest fire.
The bad can create solutions, for example. From what I have learned, at least. It has been months since the whole Connor Project uprising, and life is beginning to relax. My mom has been very supportive for me, and Zoe and I sometimes wave at each other in the halls.
I got a new job at Pottery Barn. I've been raising money to get into the college nearby. My mom has been helping me out, too.
My mom and I have patched up our relationship after so long, and I can not express how grateful I am that I have her. She might be gone at work a lot, but I've found other things to do than be on my laptop 24/7.
Jared has been my best buddy. He forgave me for all the wrong I had done, and I greatly appreciate it. He asked my mom that she didn't have to pay him to be my friend anymore. I may or may not have cried. Out of happiness. He just smacked me on the back and told me that if I cried over small things like that, I really needed to get a life.
I got a lot of threats on social media after Connor's parents came out and said it was all a hoax. It is nothing compared to the threats they received, though. They never deserved it.
In all of the hurt in my heart, at least I know who I can count on. Those who would stick with me even though I had made a terrible mistake.
Keep those people in your life. They are the ones you should treasure.
Sincerely,
Me.
