Marlo P.O.V.

I woke up around six forty-five in the morning. I had always been a morning person and I felt there was no better way to spend my time then trying to find the kitchen. I got up and showered quickly being careful not to get my hair wet. Once I got out I put on some high waisted black jeans and a blue tie-dye shirt. I undid the braids from the other night letting my hair fall in gentle beach waves. I checked my phone for any messages and practically jumped when I saw my friend Will's picture pop up on my screen. I ended the face time call and texted him.

hi friend!  I wrote.

He responded quickly, like always. hey, hows the cabin i miss you

one its a girls weekend for a reason and something came up i'm not there anymore

oh, is everything okay?  I smiled, he was always so thoughtful.

yep i'll let you know when i'm coming home.

We kept talking the conversation jumping from one topic to another. I opened the doors and continued to walk down the hall. Something crashed in a room to my right. I jumped startled, I stood in front of the door for a moment before deciding what to do I knocked lightly and waited for someone to open the door. I only waited a few moments before Finn opened the door just enough for me to see him.

"Hi..." I said a bit hesitantly "I thought I heard something, I was just making sure everything was okay..." I made eye contact with him for the first time in a few days, surprised to see his electric blue eyes soften.

"Yes, everything is fine. Do you want to come in?" He asked.

I smiled, "I-um." I bashed myself for studdering.

"You don't have to, I can show you where the kitchen is if you want instead. I realize I forgot to ask if you wanted dinner last night," Finn said. For once he looked insecure and worried.

"You know what? Breakfast would be great," I answered.

...

I sat on a bar stool next to Finn, we were eating breakfast sandwiches per my request. He was a surprisingly talented cook. "Thanks, for breakfast," I said once the conversation had started to go downhill.

"You're welcome. I should probably go finish work."

"Yeah, okay," I continued to sit there not sure what to do now that Finn was leaving.

"You can come with me if you'd like."

"Uh-- sure. I'd like that a lot," I answered.

As we walked down the hall Finn pointed out the different rooms and where all the hallways lead. "This is your home now so feel free to go where ever you like," Finn stated.

"This is not my home," I answered laughing at how absurd that would be to call a place like this home. Finn's blue eye's darkened as if there was a storm lurking there. He stopped mid-stride and turned to face me, crossing his arms.

"It is for the time being," Finn said. He tone warned that I shouldn't argue. Yet as I often did, I ignored the little voice in my head reminding me how scary Finn was and spoke my mind.

"It isn't and I don't see how it ever could be. I was brought here against my will, I was lied too. You can't expect someone to bounce back from that and be welcoming and excited for what's ahead," I blurted. I tried to control how much my face gave away as I talked and placed my hands on my hips. Finn stepped towards me twice before I found my back against a wall. Finn placed both his hands on the wall one on each side of me, trapping me where I stood. He towered over me looking down as if I was a poor mutt someone had left at the pound. I quickly dropped my eyes.

"Look at me," Finn stated. When I didn't move he repeated it. "I said, look at me." I looked up making eye contact. His eyes were no longer that startling blue but rather a dark grey. "If I remember correctly you were injured and I offered to help you. I would like to consider myself quite hospitable--"

I interrupted before he could continue, "Ya, I do remember that but you know what else I remember was that you mentioned you were taking me to a hospital. Although that part of our recent road trip seems to have slipped my mind." Finn's eyes glazed over and he zoned out for a moment before turning around, removing his arm's which had been enclosing me against the wall. I stepped away, not wanting to be stuck like that again. That's when James came running down the hall.

"Hey I heard yelling and I-" James glanced at Finn, "Marlo why don't you come with me and we can go hang out somewhere else."

I nodded and turned to follow James. Before we turned the corner I glanced back at Finn once, he was staring intently at me, I quickly returned my eyes to the ground and followed James.
