                                    part1, the tributes. chapter1- sunrise

I wake up as I am unable to sleep despite the tossings and turnings on my bed. It takes me a while to register the fact that I am not able to sleep, especially today, which is reality day. Hence, I gaze out of my opened window and see a sea of orange-ness; sunrise. It's not the usual bright orange that you see people from the Capitol wear with their bold and quirky sense of fashion, but the soft, beautiful orange that makes you feel warmth even through a simple glance at it. The sunrise never fails to make me feel better, with the sun peeked over the horizon, the sky turned from that soft orange to a pastel pink, the type of rich, light pink you see people on the more well-to-do side wear. I see the Mayor's daughter, Madge Undersee, wear dresses of this shade at times. The sun slowly ascended with the sky finally converting into a deep neon blue with fluffy clouds which reminded me of cotton wool. Over time, the pink had been mixed into the pale yellow and blue. This sight helped me to calm my nerves down and never failed to remind me that everyday is the start of something new as I marveled at the sky. I couldn't help but remember the sky and took a mental note to paint it another time, or maybe even design it onto a cake with the icing, if father allows. That is, if my nightmares never comes through and I never get reaped.
