Chapter Ten: When Heroes Fall

(Bakugo POV)

All the doctors were almost running around, in and out, the room trying to help Midoriya.

I couldn't control the frown that appeared on my face. Todoroki left about 5 minutes ago after his dad called him, I could hear yelling, and Inko got here around the time he left. The doctors weren't letting anyone in that wasn't a doctor so I sat with Inko outside of the room on the chairs that were there.

I looked over at Inko after a few minutes of awkward silence between us to see that a few tears had left stains on her cheeks. I silently hugged her as she continued to cry, a few tartars trickling down my face too.

"Izuku's going to be okay, right?"

"He'll be fine Inko... I know he will..."

"Y-yeah... he's always been fine every time... why not this one..?"

"What do you mean every time?"

"Whenever he would have surgery 'cause of his disease... I'm just anxiously waiting for the day that they'll say they know how to cure it... before he's gone..."

"He'll be okay, He'll be okay... if he's gotten through so many surgeries then he can get through this... I'm sure of i-"

I think my heart just sunk...

"He's gone..."

I mumbled under my breath.

"He's really gone..."

I broke down crying after the beeping noise stopped and a doctor coming out telling me and Inko the news. Inko tried comforting me but I knew she was hurt even more by it... she had lost her son... because of me... I have to tell her... even if she hates me afterwards, she has to know...

"Inko..."

"Yes Katsuki..?"

"I-I'm the reason why he's g-gone..."

"No Katsuki, don't blame this on yourse-"

"It's true! I-it's my fault... all my fault. He's gone and it's all my fault... I'm the one who ruined his life... I killed him... we were doing the battle training in school and I went too far and ended up killing him..!"

"Katsuki...."

I wasn't paying attention to anything anyone was saying anymore... I had killed my friend... I had killed the person I liked- no the person,

I loved...

Midoriya was my life and I killed him...

I slowly stood up with tears rolling down my face as I walked out of the hospital, and home.
