After dying, Lan Wangji thought he'd probably be best off in the spirit realm with Wei Ying to accompany him or an eternal darkness to quietly ponder his life again.

He certainly did not expect to open his eyes to see a child that looked suspiciously like his brother as a child in weird, weird clothes and cut hair along with two people who also looked suspiciously like his parents. It seemed that the same happened with his brother because he smiled knowingly at him.

Or in which the entire cast is reborn into the future where cultivation had been long forgotten. In other words, Wen Chao had been slightly smarter and killed Wei Wuxian before tossing his body into the Burial Mounds and the Sunshot Campaign failed because there was no Yiling Patriarch and the Wen Clan self-destructs from internal conflicts. Cue Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli becoming overprotective siblings once they find their (not so) baby brother and Nie Mingjue killing Jin Guangyao and getting away with it.

"Ah, ah, ah! Who's that cute guy?"

"Shh, keep quiet. I heard that the exchange program had started by now."

"Ehh? Really? So he's an exchange student? Uwa, if only our school's guys weren't all so serious! It'd be nice if they smiled all the time like... like the Student Council President, Lan Xichen!"

Jiang Yanli smiled at her friend who was drooling over a boy who was walking while staring at his phone like he was trying to solve something. 'But it's weird...' she thought to herself, cocking her head to the side and looking down, a glint passing through them, 'he feels a lot like Ah Xian...'

In the end, the boy seemed to give up and looked around. He spotted Jiang Yanli and her friend who was nearest to him by then and went up to them. "Hello, ladies!"

Jiang Yanli smiled softly before asking, "Are you new around here? You seem to be lost."

Surprise flashed through the boy's face before he awkwardly laughed and scratched the back of his head. "Ahaha, is it that obvious? Then I'll be rude and ask you two beautiful women to guide me to... en...," he fiddled with his phone for a while before brightening up and saying, "Class A-2, please!"

Jiang Yanli's friend immediately nodded vigorously and started to walk faster to match their pace. "Sure, sure! That's Jiang Yanli's brother's class too, we should go before the bell rings and the SDC catches us!"

"SDC?"

"Student Discipline Committee. The head is the Student Council President's brother, Lan Wangji. Though, I'm pretty sure that the Student Council should've sent someone to escort you...,"

"Haha! About that, I...kinda lost him in the crowd."

Said guide was crying bitter tears from not being able to find the guy who was supposed to be his responsibility for the day.

The three chatted all the way and Jiang Yanli's friend realized one thing: the boy was into guys. She lamented the fact that a perfectly nice and cute guy was into other boys. Ah... what a waste...
