When people were born, they will alight with flames of certain colors. There were seven—four common, two rare, one very rare.

The commons ones were red—called Storm Flames, yellow for Sun Flames, blue for Rain Flames and green for Lightning Flames. Rare ones were purple for Cloud Flames and indigo for Mist Flames. The very rare one was orange—Sky Flames.

Or in which the world—the universe itself celebrated Jiang Yanli's birth, the birth of a Sky and Yanli is a BAMF not without her faults and the Wen-s are decimated by a mother bear.

When Jiang Yanli was born, it was during the day, a sunny day, but with dark clouds rolling in, lightning and thunder already ringing, a drizzle of salty water landing upon the fresh earth. It would have been a bad omen.

"It's a girl...!" The midwife shakily announced, thrown off guard by the horribly rare orange fire. "She...she's a Sky!"

Yu Ziyuan took the baby with trembling hands, a rare smile on her face. She shushed the baby—her baby, their sweet daughter—and stared after a long moment of simply holding her daughter close and breastfeeding her. "*To dislike separation. Jiang Yanli, my Yanli."

The mother did nothing but smiled and hold her daughter closer as she felt the bond slide into place with an inaudible click. Her Storm Flames wrapped around her Yanli's Sky Flames and when she pulled them away, a trace of her red Storm was visible in the orange Sky, proof of their Harmonization.

The first time Jiang Yanli harmonized, it was with her mother.

Flames, as known by the general populace, were lit up by sheer will. Mostly lighting up when a person is about to die. This is why Flames, to the general populace, are known as Dying Will Flames.

Flames, as known by cultivators, came from the soul. This is why they are known, to cultivators, as Soul Flames.

The Flames themselves had different properties, different things they are able to do. For an example, Storms had the property of Destruction and Rains had the property of Tranquility. This is why Storms and Rains, when together, are generally compared to cats and dogs.

This is why it was baffling that some people decided to put a Rain and Storm in an arranged marriage and have them in charge of one of the Great Five Sects.

They say it is a sign that the Yunmeng Jiang will soon fall.

Jiang Yanli knew better.

Sky Flames had the property of Harmony, this did not mean that other Flames could not harmonize with each other.

The first thing Yanli's Sky Flames had harmonized was herself and the world—the universe. Mother was her Storm, her first Element.
