I wake up Tuesday morning to my alarm going off. I hate alarms. They're irritating and obnoxious but I guess that's the point of them. It was 6 am. Way too early, and then I remembered that it was my first day of school. I groan and then pull back the covers. I grab a towel and then walk into the bathroom. I turn on the water and then brush my hair waiting for the cold to turn to warm. While in the shower I ended up cutting my leg while shaving. I swore loudly at the same moment dad was walking by.
"Watch your language in this house!" he yelled at me. I rolled my eyes and then continued to shave. After I got out of the shower I blow dried my hair and put on natural looking makeup. I then wrapped my towel around me and walked into my closet. I spent 15 minutes trying on outfits and then taking them off to try on another outfit. I decided on a pair of destroyed high waisted light washed and semi-fringed shorts, paired with a cropped flowy top that ended above my belly button. I then pulled on my teal floral kimono and a gold necklace. I then curled my hair and strapped on my sandals and I finished the look with two gold rings. I spritzed on perfume, added some deodorant and packed my bag: wallet, earbuds, binders, schedule, pencil bag, and lunch. As I walked past Evey and dad's room, I could here hushed voices but not what they were saying. I was confused because usually dad was gone at work by now and Evey was down in the kitchen making breakfast. I shrugged and went into the kitchen, grabbing a yogurt and water bottle from the fridge.
I was halfway through the yogurt when there was a knock at the door signaling that Hudson was here to pick me up. "I'm leaving for school, love you!" I yelled up the stairs. I then answered the door for Hudson.
"So you ready for your first day?" he asked me as we walked towards his car.
"Yeah sure. Let's do this." I replied, opening the passenger door. He laughed and then started down the street. He turned on the radio and listened in silence for a minute or two until I turned it down so I could talk to him.
"Do you think people there will think that I'm a slut because I have no friends that are girls?" I ask him. He shook his head no and looked at me weirdly.
"Why would you ask that?" he asked me back.
"Well, at my old school if you hung out with too many guys you were a skank. And if you had no friends that were girls then you were a slut. It got kinda out of hand with a group of populars and a tomboy." I told him. He looked over at me and put his hand on my knee.
"I have friends that are girls that you would get along with. Oh and remember that girl from behind the counter at the roller skating place? Well that's Damian's new girlfriend." He informed me. And then we drive into the school parking lot.
