Ethan's POV
I still can't believe Maddie hid my son away from me and she was willing to hide him from me forever. I cried I know am a man but I couldn't help it. My son walked towards me and asked me if I'm his daddy. I said yes , he hugged me tightly.
"Can I call you daddy?" he asked
"Yes" I said happily and hugged him. I picked him up and kissed him all over his face. I felt like am the happiest man on earth. I looked at Maddie and found her crying. I approached her still holding my son in my arms and hugged her. I was surprised she didn't protest. We stood for awhile and my son spoke
"Mommy" Maddie quickly pulled away and took Nathan from.
"Mommy, tell daddy not to leave us again" he pouted his face
"I will never leave you again" I assured him.
"If you will excuse us , we need to go"she said with a stoic face.
"Let's have lunch together "I requested
"No!" I looked at her and didn't understand sudden behavior
"I want to spend time with my son" I said
"I ca—" Nathan interrupted whatever she was about to say
"I want to be with daddy" he wanted to get out of Maddie's arms.
"But ba-" he cut her off again
"Mommy please stop taking decisions for me , am now a big boy" he said sadly.
I was surprised, I didn't know a three year old can talk like this. He came to me and held my hands.
"Let's go daddy"I can tell he's angry
"I will go with you"Maddie finally voiced out.

In the car , Maddie didn't utter a word. But my son continued talking, he even sat on my laps. He's still angry with his mommy. I know it's temporal because he loves his mommy more than anything and am yet to win his love too.
"Baby" Maddie said
"Yes" we both responded
"You are not my baby"she said pointing to me and took Nathan.

Maddie's POV

I took my son from his laps. I am feeling terrible and guilty of my behavior. I know my son is angry with me but I just wanted to protect him
"Protect him from what?"  my thoughts questioned me. I know am overreacting. I hate him with passion. How I wished I never saw him again. Yes , I know am selfish.
"Mommy" I pulled out of my thoughts.
"Yes my love"I kissed his cheeks
"Can you please forgive me" I looked at him worriedly
"Yes mommy but stop behaving like that it hurts me" he kissed my cheeks
"Baby tell me why you looked sad yesterday"I queried
"Because I thought I don't have a father"he smiled
I felt emotional, from now on I will never stop my son from meeting his father. I can not hurt my son because of the past.

After lunch, I called my workplace that I couldn't come back. I usually send Nate to the office after school but today he wants to have sometime with his dad and I respect that. I starred at them playing. If Ethan didn't dump me ,we would have been a happy family. I saw Ethan holding ice cream, he came towards me and handed it over to me. I smiled and accepted it.

Later in the evening, I bathed and put him in his bed.
"Mommy, today is the happiest day of my life" he said happily
I kissed him forehead and let him sleep.
I got out of the room and saw my mom.
"Honey can we talk" my mom asked
"Yes" I went and sit beside her
"You looked troubled today"she said
"Nate met his dad today and I acted like a bitch" I sobbed
"It's okay"she consoled me
"Mom, I never wanted to meet him again, he makes me feel weak. I still have feelings for him but I hate him for hurting me"I continued to sob
"I know that feeling, because it's similar to what your daddy did to me" She hugged me
"Wait , What did dad do?"I asked her curiously
"Let's talk about it some other time but if you still love him and wants him back, go and get him. Don't let anger ruin you. I know he's regretting now. Don't let your pride take over. He may hurt you but he loves you. You can play hard to get but remember to give in and have a happy family"she kissed my forehead
"Mom, have you met him?" I queried
"Yes , your dad and I met him when we went to the business meeting"she responded
"And what did he tell you "I questioned her again
"I can't tell you but we found out the truth and now it's up to both of you to work things out to fight the enemy or allow the enemy to succeed" she got up and left me thinking.
What did she mean? I will found out myself. I know Mason is the one who convinced Ethan to dump me. But I don't understand what my mom meant.
