3 months later

Maddie's POV

"Honey, I want to go to the Amusement park with Nate please?!" I cupped his face and smiled
"No!!" He kissed me on my lips
"Please I will go with one of the guards and I promise to be careful" I pleaded
"I'm going with you" he said
"But you are busy with work" I tried to reason up
"It can wait" he said

Ever since that horrible day, Ethan doesn't allow me to go out without him or bodyguards. At the first, I wasn't allowed to go out. My parents agreed with him never to let me out on my own.
As for Mavis, she survived. Lucky for her, one of the policemen shot her on the leg.

Flashback

When Ethan saw me bleeding, he was panicked. He quickly carried me out of the place and sent to the hospital. I was admitted to the hospital for some few days. My parents flew over. They are very supportive, they were grateful for Ethan for taking care of me and protecting me.
"Honey, how is Mavis?" I asked Ethan
"Why do you still worry about that bitch" he gets angry at the mention of her name.
"But baby, she was shot?! And besides she was friend" I'm so worried about her
"She wasn't your friend. She and her brother planned everything" he looked pissed off
"She did everything for her brother. I know we are in the same hospital and I'm going visit her whether you like it or not! I said and turned my back to him.
I know Mavis wronged me but she did it because of her brother
"You will not visit her besides I'm not leaving you alone." He slept besides me and hugged me at the back.

Later in the evening, one of the nurses came in administer medications on me. I asked her about Mavis and unfortunately she knew her room number. I told her to send me there but first I have to convince Ethan to go out and buy me something.
"Baby" I called out
"Yes" he responded
"Can you go and buy me burger" I said
"Okay, I'm sending one of the guards" he took out his phone to make a call
"No I want you to go and I want beef burger. Please do well to bring our son" I pouted my face
"But...." I cut him and said my mother is here and there are guards on the door.
"Okay I will be coming soon" he kissed my forehead and left
Now he is gone, I can carry out my plans
"Mom please I'm going into Mavis' room
I promise to come back soon. Don't say no please?" I waited for her
"Okay I'm going with you" she said and smiled.
"But mom...." she cut me off
"She is dangerous and I don't trust her" she sighed
"Okay" i agreed
The nurse took us there. There were three policemen there. Lucky for me, they allowed me to enter.
"Hey" I called her when I entered the room. She couldn't look at me.
"Mavis I want to talk to you" I said
"Maddie please get out never came back here again!!!" She yelled at me
"No I'm not leaving here with talking to you!!" I spatted her
"Maddie I hate you, don't you get it!!!! My brother is dead because of you!!!! If he wasn't so obsessed with you this wouldn't have happened!!! She shouted at me
"You stupid bitch. Don't you try to blame my daughter for your foolishness. You are sick so were brother!!!!! My mother was angry
"Mom please" I tried to calm her down
"You know what if it weren't for my brother I wouldn't have involve myself with this mess. Because of you idiot I became a criminal. Maddie, my brother loved you!!!! Get the fuck out of here and don't show up here again!!! She yelled again
"Mavis , I forgive and please reach out to me if you want someone to talk to. I promise to be your guardian" I kissed her forehead and left with my mother

Every since that day she hasn't reach out to me. She just wrote me a letter apologizing for everything. In the letter, she told me that she regrets everything she has done because of her brother. I have forgiven because I have to let go of the ashes before I can receive the beauty. It means you have to let go of every single pain someone caused you in other to be happy.
Now, I'm the happiest person on earth right now because I have everything I have ever dreamed of.

Ethan's POV

My baby girl is so stubborn after everything that happened she hasn't changed. She is still difficult and always insist to visit that bitch in prison. I know she will go there if I allow her to go out on her own.
Today, I'm going to propose to her. I want to make her mine forever.
She insists that we go to the amusement park after that I will send her to our favorite place in the world and propose to her. Our favorite place in the world is the bedroom. Our parents are going to be there. It is a surprise party in my house. We are not going to do any decorations but it will be the most beautiful night of ourselves if she only says yes to be my wife.
"Honey let's go" She looked beautiful in a simple straight dress.
"Okay" I smiled and we both held Nate hands
"Mommy daddy, I'm the happiest boy in the whole universe" Nate blushed
We got into the car and I drove off.
We reached the amusement park, I bought ice cream and they played. I just
stood there watching them and smiling.

After some time, we were tired. I joined them because Nate wanted me to. Now we are at home. And I'm so nervous. Maddie doesn't know our parents are here.
Now we are eating our dinner and I told her I want to talk to her alone in the bedroom. She agreed and I tried to smile even though I'm feeling happy and scared at the same time.
"Are you okay?" She asked me
"Yes" I breathe in. She is looking at me weirdly.
Now we are in the bedroom alone.
"Tell me what you want to say" she said
"This is our favorite place in the world" I blushed
"Yes But I guess it hasn't changed yet" she pushed me to the bed and started straddling me.
"Maddie wait" I stopped her. She looked disappointed.
I kneeled down and open the ring case.
And I started " Maddie, I know I'm not the perfect guy. I have hurt you in so many ways for the past years. But I love you and Nate more than anything in this world. You make me a better version of myself. You are the only person who can make me do so things I never dreamed of.Baby, you know I'm not good in saying romantic words but I want you to know that you are the only one I promise to love for the rest of my life. I want you to be mine forever and I would be yours too. I know there are going to be good days and bad days but I promise to fight for our forever till my last breath. Maddie Williams will you marry me? I finally let it out
"YES YES!!! She screamed happily and hugged. I kissed like there is no tomorrow. She responded to my kisses then we heard our parents clapping. My fiancée was surprised but I told I planned all this even though it wasn't romantic.
Tonight will be my night.
