Chapter 27

Aria:
" I think we should talk to them sooner rather than later." I tell Kayla while looking for a shirt for Nick.

"I agree, I want to know what we're dealing with here, and with everything being so vague, I feel really anxious." Kayla says, while pulling out a sky blue button down.

Nick is off running around the store, I think hoping to distract us because usually he takes his time shopping, and he's running like a madmen for a date that's tomorrow. I appreciate it, but it would be better to get distracted knowing all of the story.

"How mad do you think Nick would be if we met the guys and then had a sleepover, because I can't sleep without knowing?" Kayla asks.

"Nicky can be a drama queen, but I think he'd understand seeing as though this isn't a normal situation."

"Okay then let's text the guys, hoping they answer seeing as though they did bail in Spain, and talk to Nick. I mean, no point working him up if they don't answer." Kayla making a valid point.

"On it."

Group Message: Michael, Kayla, Spencer
Me: We have talked to my parents and we need answers now. Meet us at Kayla's apartment in an hour. We deserve to know the whole story and what's happening now.

I look back up at Kayla. "Let's give them 10 minutes to respond, if they don't, we will tell Nick and wait at your place, if they don't come then we tell them we deserve to know but if they don't want to tell us, we're leaving again. I don't feel safe here not knowing what's happening."

"I agree completely. Hopefully they do because I'm done with being in the dark. After all that's happened between all of us, if they can't be honest then it's over." She says, the sadness evident on her face.

"Let's hope it doesn't come to that."

We decide to continue our search, until the 10 minutes are up and there is still no response.

"Let's tell Nick and head to my place."

The hurt is evident on both of our faces, they either have a really good explanation or it's just over. I can't take this anymore and I know Kayla can't either. We walk up to Nick who is holding a tie dye leather jacket that I don't think anyone could pull off.

"Nicky, we need to talk." I tell him.

He looks up after scrutinizing the shirt, seeming anxious to whatever we have to say. Probably knowing what we were going to tell him.

"Look, we love that you are trying to distract us, but we texted the guys and are giving them 1 hour to come clean to us." I say.

"We can't just go about not knowing the whole story, we need to know what exactly we're dealing with, so we are going to my place, where they hopefully come." Kayla continues.

Nicky already looks really sad by this, "We will either be back at our apartment in an hour if they don't come, and if they do then we will be there later tonight, but we need answers Nicky." I finish.

Nick looks at the both of us, obviously thinking about what we just said. After a minute, he takes a deep breathe and tells us, "I know guys, I'm just sad this is happening. You deserve answers, you were just told a lot today. But you aren't going alone. I'm not leaving you two alone with those stupid fools so I'm coming for support and you can't talk me out of it."

This is why I love him, he's always there for me, and now us. I can see the same thoughts reflected from Kayla's eyes.

I jump to hug him, "I love you so much Nick!"

And of course he starts laughing, "who doesn't?"

And we all start to laugh and then head over to Kayla's place.

Nick tries to make some jokes to us, but with time dwindling down to see if the guys will show up, Kayla and I are stressed. This means so much to us.

When an hour has passed and they aren't here, we start getting Kayla's things in order to go back to mine and Nicks. Sadness just overcoming us.

I can't believe they didn't text us or come.
