Chasing Heaven

The Date

I was sitting outside creating a study guide for my upcoming mid terms.
"Hey Belle."
I looked up from my book.
"Hey you."
"What you doing?"
"Studying."
He looked over my shoulder and scrunched up his face.
" What are those words."
"Medical terms."
"I thought business was hard."
I laughed.
"So what you doing tonight."
"Nothing."
"I taking you out tonight."
"Okay."
I liked hanging with Laurent. He always made me smile.
I gathered my things and put them in my book bag .
"Let me walk you home."
"I have to go get my check from work first."
"Okay."
We walked to the nearest train station and jumped on the train.
I picked up my paycheck and deposited it in the bank.
Ring Ring Ring
"Hello." Laurent said
"Hey bro you call."
"Yeah I need you to pick my package up from store."
"Ok, do you still need me to bring Raquel? "
"Yes my brother I'll see you later."
After Lau finished his call we continued to walk to my building. It seemed like the sun shined a little brighter each time he smiled at me. In no time we were in front of my building.
"So I see you later pretty lady."
I smiled and blushed.
"Okay."
I walked to my door on cloud nine. Opened my apartment door and threw my book bag on the couch.
I turned on my i pod and played some music as I jumped into the shower. I was just stepping out when I heard a knock on the door. I quickly put on my robe and answered it.
"Who is it?"
"It's me"
I opened the door and there stood Raquel and three other people. I stood there confused.
"What's all this and who are these people?"
"Well this is Angelo he will be doing your hair and make-up. This is Kimora she will be doing your Mani and pedi. And last but not least this is Audrey she will be your personal stylist."
"I don't have money to pay for all this."
"Girl relax it's already paid for. All you have to do is sit back relax and get ready for tonight."
"Okay fine but I have one condition don't cut my hair."
"You have beautiful hair Ms. Girl why would I want to do that." Angelo said.
A long rack of clothes were bought into my apartment. This almost felt too good to be true.
Audrey had me try on a couple of things. Raquel and her squad sat back waiting for the perfect look. Finally they decided on an outfit that in my opinion showed too much skin. Next was hair and make-up. Finally the manicure and pedicure was done. Raquel had tears streaming down her eyes. She turned me around to look in the mirror. I Looked incredible.
"Yasssss you better werk Ms. Girl." Angelo said.
I was speechless. I began to tear up.
"Thank you so much."
"No crying you gonna smear your make-up."
Everyone packed up and left but not before hugging me.
"You are beautiful girl don't let anybody tell you anything different." Angelo said.
Larry had called Raquel telling her to bring me out front.
I walked behind her still thinking I was showing too much skin. Laurent pulled up behind Larry. He exited his car as I stepped from behind Raquel.
"Wow Heaven you look beautiful."
"Thank you." I said looking down at the ground.
He grabbed my chin and pulled my face up.
"Come on let's go paint the town red."
He opened the passenger side door for me so I could get in.
"Wait their not coming?"
"Nope tonight is just me and you."
The first place we went to was some fancy restaurant.
" I order for you tonight because all you gonna get is bunny food."
I laughed.
He ordered the chicken for me.
Dinner was amazing. Even though Laurent insisted on feeding me. After dinner a horse and carriage pulled up in front of the restaurant the driver carrying three long stem white roses my favorite.
"For you Madame."
He helped me get onto the carriage. We rode off into night. The starlit sky gave an romantic atmosphere. He pulled me close to him wrapping his arms around me. After the carriage ride we drove to the beach and just talked as the waves crashed against the shores. This was the best night I have ever had.
"This was beautiful Lau."
"You my girl you deserve the best."
"Huh?" I said thinking I heard him wrong.
"You my girl." He repeated as he kissed my lips.
My heart skipped a million beats as his tongue caressed mines. I thought I might have died and this was Heaven. We sat on the beach watching the sun rise before walking back to his car.
"Goodnight Belle."
"STAY." I said as I pulled him into my apartment.
