It was about a month away from our double wedding. I still had a bit of baby weight to lose so I could get into my dress. I haven't much felt like doing anything I was tired all the time. The twins kept me pretty busy then their was school. I was on my final year and then I would have to do my residency. Laurent and I decided to give our daughters the best life we could. Construction had started on the dance school and we had a decision to make.
"I non see why Momma Trinity non can keep the babies." Laurent said.
"Babe you know my mother have health problems and it would be hard for her to do this on a daily basis."
"I non trust nannies I see how they abuse children on TV"
"What do you suggest then?"
He thought for a minute.
"I got it bebe we get nanny and Momma watch nanny."
I really didn't really like the idea of other people raising my children but Laurent and I had to work.
"Well what you think amour?"
"Uh I guess."
He smiled. "Come on bebe us have more preparations for wedding." We put the girls into their car seats and drove off to meet Larry, Rocky and Ariel we were going to pick out cake today. I stared out the window admiring the beauty of my surroundings.
"It's non as beautiful as you." He said grabbing my hand. I blushed he had that type of effect on me. We arrived at the bakery 15 minutes later. We grabbed our daughters and entered the shop.  We waited a whole another 30 minutes for Larry and Raquel just like them to always be late I bet they would be late for their own funerals. Raquel and I went through cake after cake  before finally deciding. Afterwards we went back to our house. Larry and I argued over who was going to cook. We settled it with a dance battle. I gathered all the ingredients I needed to cook. There was a knock at the door we all looked at each other in surprise. We weren't expecting anyone. Laurent went to answer the door. There stood his mother and my mother chatting away.
"Maman when you get in town?"
"I been heref or almost a week."
"Something smeell good in here." My mother said. "Heaven must be cooking Gumbo."
This was unexpected but it was always a joy to have the whole family together.
"Now where are those grandbabies?" They both said.
