The New Members

Chapter 2

Midnight's P.O.V.

I'm just your normal teenage girl; jumping from rooftop to rooftop, kicking your sister's butt, and knocking out thug's teeth! Wait...that is normal right? Well it is for me and my best friend, probably because she is a superhero like me! Oh wait, I didn't say that yet? Wow, how silly of me! Well let's get started.

The name's Steel, Alexandra Steel but mostly everybody calls me Alex because if they don't their nose meets my foot. I was raised in an orphanage until about nine? No eight! Naahhh it was nine. At nine I ran away; I just couldn't stand they way everyone looked at me with pity when they came to adopt or whatever. So I traded that life for the streets.

I was my own for about two years until I ran into a girl. And you know what she did?! She looked at me with pity! Like really? I've tried to run away from all of that and here she was looking at me with a small smile. You don't know how much I wanted to punch that smile of her face. Who knew this girl would become my adopted sister.

Her name was Artemis and her mother Paula Crock adopted me. But not out of pity, but out of the potental she saw in me.

It wasn't long until I found out who they were and that's a big accomplishment for someone who has an attention span of a cat with a ball of yarn. Artemis! My sister was the buttkicking archeress Artemis! Now how cool is that? I knew I wanted to be in on the hero biz as soon as I found out about her. Took a lot of pleading and gallons of tears but it was worth it! Mom finally agreed to it!

And that was when Midnight was born; the sidekick of Artemis. I looked like a checker board...and I loved it! I had my black and white arrows and everthing! Being a superhero became my life I mean that's how I met my best friend Red Mistress! Me and Artemis happened to be patroling Star City to help Green Arrow and his new sidekick since Speedy went solo. There she was Sonic Finch! Later on she changed her name to Red Mistress. After that day we did everything together! Played pranks and kicked people's butts.

We even went to the same middle school; Gotham Junior High since I lived in Gotham and Robin got a scholarship since she lived in Star City.

That's where I met Jason, Robin's so called "childhood friend". They got along pretty well, though I can't say the same for me.

I made it hard for Jason to hang out with us since me and him always found something to fight about. I guess I felt a bit guilty for making her relationship with Jason hard. I felt even worse when he died. I thought Robin was gonna kill herself she was so depressed. I never really forgave myself for never even trying to know the guy.

Then it finally came when we became part of the Young Justice Team! Me and Red were so excited! I mean who wouldn't be excited to be working with a hotty like Nightwing. When we got there it was so exciting. We are going to meet the team tomorrow. I can't wait to greet them all. Especially Robin, I gotta say he is quite a looker! I mean he is just soooo adorable! Now he I definitely want to greet!
