The New Members

Chapter 4

Midnight's P.O.V

I looked up at the few member's around me. Luckily Robin was next to some fish like dude.

"Hi. I'm Midnight." I announced to everyone. <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>

"Um, what was that?" Impulse asked as Red fled from the room, tears streaming down her face.

I huffed and folded my arms. So much for having fun with the team.

"Jason." I mumbled.

Nightwing cocked his head up at the name and Robin having the same reaction.

"I'm sorry but may I ask what's this Jason's last name is?" He asked with his eyebrows furrowed.

Well that's what I guessed since his eyes were covered in a domino mask.

"Jason Todd." I shrugged wondering what was so important with some dead boy I didn't even like.

"Oh God." Nightwing rubbed his temples. "Team I'm going to have to leave early. Someone take her to her room." He said walking towards the Zetabeams going to where I guessed was the Batcave.

"I wouldn't mind helping her unpack." a female voice said.

We all turned to see the Justice League member Zatanna Zatara. The magician smirked at Nightwing as the whites of his mask widened.

"Um...yeah you...you do that" Nightwing mumbled still looking at before entering the Zetabeams.

I'm not crazy but I swear I saw Zatanna wink at him before he left the mountian.

"Well! We can't just leave a new member standing here! C'mon..." She looked at me for a name.

"Alex! Alex Steel." I blushed for taking to long to answer.

"Well come on Alex lets get you settled in." Zatanna picked up two of my bags and took the only box.

We kept quiet as we unpacked my clothes and other stuff.

"So about this Jason boy." Zatanna said to break the silence.

"Oh yeah him....." I noticed how Zatanna became stiff at the name. "He went to me and Red's middle school he was like her best friend or whatever but honestly us two didn't get along."

"Hmm." She signaled for me to go on.

"Well then he died." I shrugged. "Red was heart broken and I guess I was sad I don't know."

After that we kept silent once again.

"So Nightwing..." I said. It was my turn to break the silence.

Zatanna smirked as she put away the last article of clothing.

"It was nice meeting you Alex." She said stil smirking before exiting my room.

"Wait! You didn't answer..my..question?"
