Chapter 7 {So Close!}

Johns P.O.V.

It didn't take long for Rose to explained what Dave's plan was. She knew how much it Karkat meant to Dave but wanted him safe. She knew that being with a human would put him in danger. So I told her that I was just trying to keep them apart to protect Dave. Rose stayed upstairs as I headed downstairs. She didn't want to be apart of the rest of this so I said I'd finish it.

I made my way down to the basement and smirked when a saw them "Well what do we have here" They both looked at me as I walked close. Just as I planned Dave got protective moving in front of Karkat. But he was so distracted with making sure Karkat was safe he see the board I swung at his head.

I sighed quietly when I saw my best bro all to the ground unconscious. "I guess I'll have Rose come get him convince him meeting you was all a dream and then hide you somewhere else" I said as I looked back at Karkat with a goofy smile.

Karkats P.O.V

My eyes widened when I watched my lover fall to the ground. I looked back at John when I heard him and frowned "N-No you can't convince him he didn't mean me" I said as I got up and ran towards Dave but didn't get far when John picked me up. "Let me go right n-" my words faded as I started to feel dizzy and that's when I realized John had injected me with something to put me to sleep.

My eyes became really heavy as I fell back John picking him up bridal style. I was to weak to talk or move as he layed me on the bed "Don't worry once you wake up you'll be somewhere better then here" John said kissing my forehead. If I wasn't so weak I would've gagged. I frowned as I watched a girl kinda similar to Dave walked down the stairs. She gave a apologetic look and carried Dave away. That's all I saw before finally giving into the sleep that was trying to over power me.

Dave's P.O.V

I woke up late in the day as I sat up rubbing my head. It took me a moment to process everything before my eyes widened "KARKAT!" I shouted. But my head jerked to the door when Rose walked in holding a tray and had a confused looked as she asked "Who?" I immediately sat fully up "Karkat my boyfriend remembered John took him and you went with me to find him"

Rose sat down by me and explained that I had passed out on my way to close and had been asleep for a couple days now. She sat the tray on my lap. It had tea and soup that she had added blood to for me. "S-So Karkat doesn't exist?" I asked quietly as I stared at the tray "I'm sorry Dave but as far as I know there isnt anyone named that around here. Maybe somewhere but not here" she said. I gave a small nod and she left the room. Something felt off about it all. The dream feels like it was so real. But I sighed and just ate my soup and drank my tea "Maybe it really was all a dream why would Rose lie to me" I said quietly. I finished my soup and tea and then put on a movie drifting off to sleep.
