ALMOST, NINE FULL YEARS AFTER MEETING AND JR'S DEATH, BOTH SAGE AND ROMAN WERE STUCK TOGETHER LIKE GLUE & THICK AS THIEVES. As they both remained in the same town, they went to the same middle school and had some classes together. They remained close friends ever since that once simple day and never really separated for such a long time.

Sage had befriended his cousin, Letha and even his sister, Shelley. They all got along swimmingly, not really caring for the obvious and major differences between them. Hell, his cousin and sister were just glad he finally had a friend.

They were all in middle school, having some classes together and some not. Roman and Sage had social studies with Sage and to say it was currently boring would be a huge understatement.

Roman was asleep already by the time the class even started. Sage looked at his sleeping form with a raised eyebrow, the sight bringing some humor to her day. She always tried to seem attentive in class unlike everyone else but she didn't give a crap about anything they were teaching her.

She did the work, seemed respectable, and kept up appearances, well, sometimes. Roman would occasionally drag her out of class to sneak some food and just skip class. Hell, he had sneaked some cigarettes from some other student he didn't care about.

"You know, those are gonna fuck up your lungs, right?" she rhetorically asked the Godfrey heir. She smirked at his annoyed features as he lit his cigarette with a lighter he had.

"Do I look like I care?"

"As per usual, not really but I might as well try" she shrugged as she looked up at the bright array of clouds.

It was peaceful, the silence hanging over them all. Like something—someone watched over them as life on earth played out. Someone who let all the atrocities of human kind play out, let them devour innocence in times of greed. Yet the peace became bloodshood so easily.

"What're always day dreaming about?" he asked her, rudely at first. "Every day, staring at the clouds"

"More like thinking, dumbass" she smirked.

"About what then?"

"Life" she simply replies as she pays him almost no attention.

"Life can kiss my ass"

"I think it'd sooner kill you than kiss your ass"
