Logan woke up early and stayed away from the house for the whole day, finding plenty of chores to keep himself occupied because he couldn't stand the thought of having spend time with Anne. Maybe he ought to move into the bunk house while she was here. To keep things simple.

No. That reeked of cowardice. He wouldn't put it past her to take his wanting distance as a sign of bitterness, and also he needs to prove to her that he already moved on. The problem is, he cannot take that she was envading his place and his life again.

And the forgiveness she been asking? He wouldn't know if he can give it to her because even him, he didn't know how to forgive himself for being so stupid.

Claire's horse, Daredevil, nickered softly and Logan patted the horse's rump, continuing to brush Daredevil's flanks in a long, smooth strokes.

"I know my mood's pretty sour but don't you worry about it. Everything will be okay. I need to be okay." he took a deep sighed. "You also miss Claire? She will be happy to know that you're well, so we need to be okay. I miss her too, she's a sister that I don't have." he timidly smiled.

For the past few months, Claire was the only one being there for him to keep himself in sane. Even she was busy in her marriage life she didn't forget to checked on him, keep pushing him to faced the life, to keep his ranch survive from his lacking of time to run it. Claire, is the only family he have.

He heard a motor outside the barn and poked his head out of the stall to see out the open double doors.

Douglas Finn. His annoying cousin. He's also a frequent visitor who keep coming to messed his peaceful life. He wondered, if Douglas was really his cousin because he's one of the people he couldn't remember.

He has a lot of things he couldn't remember but what was happened that night before their supposed wedding kept showing in his mind and that horrific accident that almost burned him keep hunting him. Nightmares wore him up every night.

He still have this selective amnesia that also wore him up, and made himself to not live normally. He wanted to forget that night but it seems it was invaded his whole being.

"Its so surprising to see you here, Logan. But, I'm glad you're starting to gather back your life." Douglas said, a hand shading his eyes as he peered into the recessess of the barn.

"Yeah, just finishing up." He set the brush aside and let himself out of Daredevil's stall, washing his hands with the hose. "What are you doing here, Douglas?" he glanced at Douglas.

"I'll just drop Anne's personal belongings." he simply replied.

Logan looped the hose over the hook with yank on the lenght. "Now, she have a maid service to the rescue!" he smirked.

"Is there something wrong with that?" Douglas asked.

"So, she brought enough luggage to clothe the whole town?"

Douglas laughed. "Which mean she doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon. So better accept to the idea that you're going to see her everyday."

"No!" Logan met Douglas's gaze.

"Then, what you can do about it, throw her outside?" Douglas laughed even more.

"I am!" his face darkened.

Douglas whistled. "Can you really do that to her?" then he patted his right shoulder. "See you in bit, I'll just carry Anne's belongings inside." then laughed again before he went out of the barn.

Logan shook off the bad mood. He needed a solution. Getting caught up in his anger wasn't a good idea. "Wait, I'll help you." he said, latching onto the excuse to go inside so he could see what Anne was up to for the whole day.

The living room was empty, the kitchen too.  Logan opened the front door so Douglas can came in.

"Where I can put this?" Douglas asked while carrying a two suitcase.

He pointed his finger at the foot of the stairs. "Just leave them there."

After Douglas finished unloading Anne's belongings, he bid goodbye.

"I'd best be going. Call me if you need anything." Douglas said.

"Thanks. I appreciate it even you're so annoying sometimes." he chuckled.

Douglas stared at him. "You're welcome fucker! If we're not have a same blood, I wouldn't waste even a seconds of my life to just babysetting you!" he shook his head before he went out of the door.

Logan followed Douglas to the front door. The second it closed, Brad took the stairs two at the time.

At the top he headed toward his bedroom--- "What are you doing here?"

Anne looked startled by his bellow. She had his white blanket and a pillow case on her shoulders.

"You startled me. How are you feeling? You still need to rest."

He scanned his room in an instant, noting that she'd turned his bedroom like being washed out by a super typhoon. "I'm fine, now...get out."

"You're room needs a general cleaning."

"This is my room, I'm the one who suppose to clean it." he said, gritting his teeth.

"Yes I know, but I can also do it. Look, your blanket and pillows need a new one." she explained.

"I don't need a new one, and I really don't like you to came in and invaded my privacy." he closed his eyes, trying to controlled his temper.

Anne just stared at her and walked toward to the basket of new pillow cases and a blanket.

"Just take a bath first, this will only took a minutes. When you're done, your bed is ready."

Frustrated and tired. Logan nodded.

"Fine, I don't want you here when I came back!"

"Alright. Logan...wait."

He paused in a doorway, his grip on the knob tight.

"I ordered the maids to come back and the men will move back to the bunk house again." she bravely stated.

Logan slowly facef her. "You're what?" he looked at her blankly.

She walked toward him. "Logan please, this is also their home for so many years and then one day, you just kicked them without thinking where they can live. Did you even think if they're comfortably living outside this ranch?" she asked, she felt guilty toward them.

He jerked his heard toward the window. "Of course, they're my people!"

"Of course you are." she whispered.

Logan seems being slapped by her words. He realized, how mean he was to his people.

"Okay, I get your point."

Unable to stand it any longer, he walked toward the stairs. She followed him as far as the doorway.

"Would you like me to set a little welcome party for them?" she smiled at him trying to lighten his mood.

He stared back at her. "Do you mind answering your own question? Because even I said no, you still do it. My words nothing to you right? So don't ask!"  he shook his head and hurriedly went out of the house.

She stepped inside and closed the door, shutting off all her negative thoughts. She wanted to believe that if Logan has still have a heart for his people, maybe he also has to her.
