Logan got up on Sunday morning and pack himself a lunch, then rode to the area where he taken Anne Margarett the past years they were still together. Logan stayed there all day, sat the creek and watched the water flow by.

Anne was in her bedroom when Logan returned so he can checked and feed the animals and went to bed, still at a loss as to how to handle the next more weeks with Anne.

With Monday morning's sunrise Logan was hard at work at the barn with his men, trying to repair some tractors. Martha his housekeeper arrived on schedule, the dogs barking as she parked.

Martha will just clean the house as the given schedule. Miraculously, Anne followed his demand that he wanted more privacy.

Not long after she entered the house, Logan noticed Anne established a makeshift office on the porch. She alternately paced the expanse or sat her computer on her lap, typing away.

He wondered what had been said between the two women but wasn't about to extend the efforts to find out. So long as Anne wasn't bothering him he didn't care what she did or where she did it.

The object of his thoughts again set the laptop aside to pace while she talked on the cell phone of hers.
One hand waved and motioned in the air. Anne was dressed in snug jeans and a form fitting shirt, this one sparkle on the front. Every time she turned and face the sun, the sparkles flashed, drawing his attention and distracting him from his chore.

"Take a break." Mason, the Circle F foreman, said. "It's not going anywhere and you've been at it since I left this morning. Missing a meal ain't going to make it start.

Logan complies without comment, beyond frustrated. The tractor hadn't been operable for a while. But Logan was determined---and hungry now that Mason had reminded him of the time.

Logan tossed the wrench aside. "I suppose you're right. I'm going in for some lunch. You coming?"

"Not today. I'm taking a load of hay into town for Douglas. Your cousin is out of hand at this moment so I'm lending's mine, I hope it's alright with you."

"Tell him I'll be around to help as soon as I can." he said.

"Will do. Thanks, boss. appreciate it." Mason said.

He followed Mason's gaze toward the porch.

"I can't believe that she still has a guts to be here after what happenend. But on the contrary, did you ever thought that maybe she's not guilty of that..." Mason paused

Logan was trying hard to keep his mind off  the fact that Anne's presence on the ranch would only lead to  his disaster.

"I'm certain, I saw it in my own eyes." he gritted his teeth just thinking of that night.

"Good luck with Anne. Don't let her give you too hard a time." Logan said goodbye to Mason then ambled toward the steps knowing he couldn't avoid  Anne any longer.

Thankfully the object  of his thought wasn't on the porch. Maybe he could slip  in unnoticed. He wasn't good around women, especially women like the new her with a fancy clothes and designer hair and nails. He likes the old Anne, soft, without a lot of make up. He liked women who didn't spend hours getting ready.

Through the screen door he saw Anne bent at the waist, her head in the refrigerator, her behind right there for him to stare at.

He glanced away, knowing that it was inapproriate.

Logan noticed her laptop on the card table she'd dragged outside. Curious, he narrowed his gaze and stared in surprise when he saw the screen was filled with the images of the lingerie. He realized that it might be what she sold at her shop back in New York, that was Leendon relied to him when he visited him last year.
