Anne stood several second after Logan made the painful statement and left the second floor, seemingly trying to outrun his grief and anger.

Even though she didn't think it entirely wise to follow him, she found herself doing that. She'd seen the flash of pain on his face before he masked it with anger and she hated that she'd been that cause.

Logan might be big and burly and strong but she glimpsed something vulnerable in him. Something she couldn't ignore. Because she doesn't want Logan to get to used the anger stage and that may affects his life.

When she descended the stairs she expected to find Logan in the kitchen. He'd come into the house and washed up, obviously ready to eat. But he wasn't there, and the living room was empty. His den?

Leave him alone. Whatever you say might make it worse.

Yeah, it might.

His den at the back of the ranch house was empty as well, but she walked to the desk and stared at the pictures there. Most was her, but some were the two of them.

She turned to leave but noticed the desk calendar was several days behind. And because things like that bugged her, she flipped the three pages it took to be on the correct date only to pause.

Logan's birthday---20  was written in the neat handwriting she recognized at Logan.

His birthday.

She even forgot his birthday.

No wonder Logan was having such a hard time of it. Coming so soon on the heels of his parent's death. Logan's attempts to repair the tractor made sense, he wanted to fix all the tractors because that his father's valuable and precious position. A precious memory of a man who spent his whole life at the Circle F. And his parents died right after his birthday.

Anne leaned against thd desk, unsure of her next move. She felt guilty for her hand in the situation. She was the reason why the circle F was in rackus. She and Logan has to find a way to coexist. In order to save the ranch.

Maybe they need a good talk, the one they could bridge into even friendship they might enjoy while she was there and if thats could happen he maybe accept her help to save the Circle F and his forgiveness he'll granted her.

You're planning on something that might worsen the situation. It would be best of you keep yourself and stayed on your original plan. Save Logan and the  Circle F then leave. Don't dream on that he can forgive you.

But it was his birthday, and no one should have to spend a birthday alone. Logan had been out in the barn most of the day. He didn't need to brood out there over something that couldn't be changed.

Walking through  the empty house, Anne spied a pair of calf-lenght waders door. She wrinkled her nose but put them on. Shella would really get a kick if she could see this.

She grabbed a jacket from the hooks and  wrapped her arms around her front, clumping her way to the barn.

Logan stood silent and still, head down, his hand spread across the fender above one of the tractor's giant wheels.

She opened have mouth  then quickly closed it. No matter how she felt about Logan cold treatment and anger toward her, her love for him never change. Hoping that atlest for his birthday she could do especial thing for him that could make him smile and forget a little bit of his agony at the lost of his parents.

She turned back toward the house and hurriedly went inside her room to get her mobile phone.  She immediately dialed the numbers that could help her to set up a surprise birthday dinner for Logan.
