The gods mentioned here is from the Norse Mythology

The belief of the giants is ancient and occurs through out the world. In the ancient Nordic mythology the gods was eternal enemies of the witchcraft giants from Utgard , together with the frost-giants, in the cold kingdom Niflheim and the fire giants in the red hot Muspelheim. The whole  world is also shaped  from the extremely old giant Ymir's dead body, by the might god Odin and his brothers Vile and Ve. Even in the bible giants exist, for instance Goliath whom was killed by King David. In the Greek myths  they are telling about one eyed giants called Cyclops, like Polyphemus, that eat up a huge part of the hero Odyssey's men.

The Norse giants are huge, ancient creatures and has lived here long since before the humans ages. They are exorbitantly strong, but clumpy and rarely excessive  clever. Since Scandinavia was Christianize have they gotten rare sighted and more the less pulled away to the unsettled wilderness and mountains. The sound of church bells cuts in their ears and is driving them insane. This explains the enormous boulders that you can  see be laying here and there across the northern landscape. It is stones that the giants in frustrations threw towards the church to get a end of that noise. Especially great marksmen they don't seem to be since  dosen't seem to be have hit any of their targets. Those kinds of erratic was called in back in the old fashioned way. "Giant broom" ,even though if some people claims that it really is stones that has been dragged after them from one of the recent ice sheet.

The Giants have probably gotten their name  after their gulping appetite. The word "Giant" comes from an old Germanic word that in there original meaning means "Eater".In some places have their relationship to humans of this reason been a tiny strain, you'll be wise to stay far away from a giant with taste of human flesh. In other places have however the giants been able to control their appetite and been getting along with humans. These creatures are friendly and nobody wants anything evil, even if it sadly happens that they accidentally steps on somebody by mistake.
