Chapter Three~ A Few Hours
I could hear faint sobbing sounds in the distance. This atmosphere made me uncomfortable. When you walked in it was like a lobby to a hotel. A desk sat in the front of the room with a lady typing away on the computer. She was a vampire, I could tell by how pale and young she looked. She had blonde hair which was curled and her makeup was really over done. The lady looked over to me and rolled her eyes. "Come closer..." She said in a bored tone. I realized I was still standing in the door way. The auction house was beautiful.
There were a huge pots of red roses, which were put on the sides of the room next to each other. The wallpaper were plain white with tiny black roses design. There was a black couch on the side and a few white chairs also. It didn't surprise me that this place looked so beautiful. The richest vampires came here. I walked up to the desk, afraid of disobeying the vampire.
"Name?" She said looking at her computer screen, chewing on gum "Kamille Reman." I said quietly looking down. She typed away on the keyboard and looked up at me. "Go to the room right there and please, try not to cry loudly. It's so annoying." She mumbled the last part nodding her head to big giant black doors. I quickly scurried off to the other side of the room to the black doors.
I saw tons of girls and boys getting dressed up or sobbing. We had to look nice if we wanted to get sold, but not too nice because were still slaves. Another vampire women greeted me at the door. She was way taller then me. I'm on 5'1. Her hair was dark brown and was put up in a high pony tail. "You must be Kamille, come with me..." She said walking towards a black bar stool.
A few hours passed. Let's just say I've never felt so much pain in my life. My hair was tugged at and my face felt heavier with so much makeup on. The women decided the leave my hair down, flipping my bangs to the side. She did my makeup so I had light pink lipstick on and deep eyeliner on my waterline. She also did my eyelids so they had a cat eye look. I hated it.
Don't get me wrong it looked pretty, I just hated how girly it sounded to describe what it looked like. She dressed me up in a plain white dress that ended just below my knees. The dress was also strapless. She put me in white flats also. "All done!" She said fixing my hair a bit. Finally. "Your number seventy, don't forgot when your lined up and they call your number." She said before wondering off maybe to help someone else. I got off the barstool and looked around. Girls were in the corner sobbing, other just looked like they had their life drained away.
I wondered how I must of looked. Probably alone. I felt alone that's for sure. The vampire that helped me get ready told me the auction wouldn't start for ten more minutes. Meaning vampires were already filling in the room outside of those curtains. I wished I could take a peek out but I'd get punished. I wish Tilly was here. She'd be telling me how good I looked.
The thought made me laugh, she could make any situation better. Plus, she would be the only one I would want here. I felt my tears form in my eyes and my face probably looked red. I couldn't cry in front of everyone else though. Sure other girls have no problem with it but I just can't. "Slaves, line up by number. Starting from one and ending at four hundred!" A vampire man announced in the center of the room. He called number one up at lined the slave up next to the curtain.
Everyone else just counted from there. Soon I walked into line and a quiet girl went behind me. She had dirty blonde hair and a black dress one which was also strapless. I couldn't see her face since she was looking down. I didn't bother making conversation with her. It feels kind of messed up too when we are about to sold away.
All the slaves got quiet as we heard a women on a microphone announcing the auction will begin. Claps could be heard from outside the curtain and I felt my heart drop. Here it goes. "Can I have slave number one come out?" The silky voice announced.
