Dpov

Once those words left my lips I watched many emotions play across her eyes, and tears starting to form. She looked away from me, looking to the front of the church. Then stood and practically ran from the church.

Once she was out of my site I sighed. Hoping now she will finally leave me alone. But watching her reaction to what I said made something hurt inside me that I didn't understand, the guilt over what I did as a strigoi made it almost impossible to understand it.

I was so lost in my own thoughts trying to figure out what this hurt was, that I didn't notice when someone else sat down in the place SHE just sat. Looking over when I felt a tap on my arm, I found Guardian Eddie Castile.

He looked at me for a few seconds before he finally spoke.

" I'm glad you're dhampir again Dimitri but can I be honest with you?"

I shrugged and nodded for him to continue. He was HER brother, I'm sure whatever he has to say is going to be about HER.

Taking a deep breath he continues.
" I know you must be going through a lot, but so is she. You didn't see her after the caves or when she came back from Russia. She was lost and suicidal when she first got back. Her thinking she killed you on that bridge, it killed her too Dimitri." Taking another deep breath he went on. "It wasn't until you sent her that first letter that I seen any life in her again. Dimitri, with that letter you gave her life purpose again. Her knowing you was still out there alive in someway gave her hope. Hope to do something no one ever thought was possible. Well aside from.." he looked to me quickly as if he was giving more away then what he intended.

"Anyway, I have a few questions I want you to answer and I want you to really think about it and everything I will tell you in response to your answers ok?" He asked. Again I just nodded, but the church service was just about over. We could do this somewhere more private.

"I will let you ask anything you need to but can we do this in my room, please, I have a feeling I want privacy for this."

Eddie nodded. Once service was over we both stood and made our way to my room with my, yuck, guardians following. We didn't say anything for the walk there. Once making it to guests housing and up to the third floor and down the hall to my door, taking out my key and unlocking the door I opened it to step inside holding it open for Eddie and two of my five guards.

I knew the one, Sparidon, he was once one of Victor Dashkov's Guardian's, the other I knew of his history and have seen him around, he helped HER get in to see me when I was in the jail cell, Mikhael Tanner. After asking them to have a seat and seeing if they wanted anything to drink, and starting the coffee. I sat down at looked to Eddie, waiting for him to ask his first of what I'm sure will be many questions.

"Before I ask my first question, Dimitri, you need to know that I know everything that happened, and I mean everything. From when you brought them back to the academy all the way until I sat next to you in the church." He said looking at me disapprovingly. His disapproval could be about many things that happened this past nine months since I met HER. I nodded and told him to ask his questions.

"Who do you think saved you?"

"Princess Dragomir."

"Where did she get the knowledge to restore you?"

"Princess Dragomir said from some books her and Lord Ivashkov read about spirit."

Shaking his head, he asked his next.

"Who told your family what happened to you?"

"...Roz..Ros...Miss Hathaway, when she went to Rus.. Russia." It was really hard to say her name right now, ever time I tried her image in the church popped into my head, and I don't want to even think of my Homeland and what happened there.

Nodding he narrowed his eyes at me, "Did you really ever love my sister, or did you just use her as I'm sure she is thinking now?"

"I...I...that was a long time ago Eddie, I have no feelings for HER, she is now just an acquaintance, someone I once trained to become a guardian."

"But she not." He stated.
