Chapter 5 - where ahe talks about him

I woke up around nine a.m with the annoying shrill of my alarm. I did my morning ritual which consists of spreading my bed,showering and cleaning up my room.l went downstairs to the kitchen and l found Camilla with her daughter talking.

"Morning " l greeted them both.
"Morning" Camilla said  and I went to hug Maya.
"Hey" she said
" Long time no see where have you been?" I asked her fully knowing her answer.

"Work" she said with a frown. Maya was the only person l had close to a friend.Since the accident l never went anywhere near the restaurant or my former apartment. She was nice enough and she welcomed me like I belonged, even though I knew I didn't.

l wouldn't want to bumping  into Kyle. I never really had friends before besides my workmates.l was kind of a loner. I was surprised that l liked Maya this quick. She was almost my age though she was a little bit older. She was 25 where as l was 23. We had both gone to college but she had found a job that she had trained for and l hadn't had that luck.

That's why l was waitressing after l had spent 4 years in college studying business.
"Don't you dare complain! I wish l was you right now.l would kill just to go to work for even a day" l told her.
"Maria,you have no idea how much it sucks to work with men,they make you feel so inferior and on top of that it doesn't help that lm Hispanic " yeah l could feel for her, she was hired in a law firm filled with men .

She was smart very smart so when she applied there they hired her but they had had a tradition to only hire men. So you can imagine her struggle.
" yeah l wouldn't want to be you " l said in a serious tone. She gave me the stank eye and l looked at her while opening the fridge "what?!" I asked smiling.
"You are supposed to tell me that everything will be ok" she whined
I closed the fridge door after l took out a tray of eggs and then walked up to her
"Aww lm sorry Maya everything will be ok..all those men at work will turn into women eventually..you just have to be patient " l said slowly with a sympathetic face . As soon as she took the spatula l ran for my life.
And as always,she followed.After a while of us chasing each other Camilla screamed at us.

" girls!!! Quit it. You are acting like 4 year olds,again."
We both came back breathless. I never denied that we acted kinda childish when we were together.
"So l didn't come here so that l can beat the shit out of you "
"Okay so what did you come for oh the great wizard " l gave her a smile
"Oh fuck you Maria" she said,even though she was smiling.
"Language!!!" Camilla said
"Now apologize to Maria" ha ha ha  was laughing my socks off at Maya
"Yeah..apologize to..me" l could barely talk because l was laughing so hard.
"Mom !!!but she's laughing!" Maya complained.

"I don't care but you are apologizing for your language young lady,right now " she insisted hands on her waist.

"Sorry" she said to me in a low voice.
"I didn't hear you" l was now trying to get on her nerves , she didn't like that. She was one of those dominant kind of women that didn't accept any bullshit from anyone. I admired her for that. I wished I could be her. Strong,that not even any guy could break her.

"Really ?!!l said lm SORRY " she kinda shouted the last  word.
"Forgiven " l said quickly looking for a pan because if I didn't drop it, I knew from her look that she was getting annoyed, I didn't want that.

"Now where were we,,breakfast" l said turning on the stove.
"Ain't you not supposed to be cooking?" Maya asked with a quirked eyebrow.
"Yeah you know Mr Anderson don't want you working " Camilla agreed.
"Well,last night he gave me permission to cook whatever l want and whenever l want" l beamed
" really?? What did you do to him?" Maya asked.

" nothing,l asked him nicely and he agreed " l lied.l didn't feel like explaining the whole story to them ,especially Camilla.She didn't believe me so she took out her phone and called Trevor to confirm it.And lucky for me,l wasn't lying.
