There had been no change to my account overnight at all when I woke up the next morning. Still at 78 reads, now at 57 followers. I realised that I may have fallen into a fundamental flaw before posting my work - maybe I didn't have enough followers before I posted the book.
I always say to make sure you have a significant number of followers before posting a book, but this rule seemed to have slipped my head the time. Is that why my book wasn't growing as fast as I had hoped?
I had to remind myself that it was still day 5, and that I had barely started this challenge, so there was all the time in the world to gain reads. People who had read it did seem to like the concept, so I didn't think it was the book itself that was the problem. I just needed to find more ways to get attention for it.
After posting another chapter, I decided to leave the account for that day and logged out, going to socialise for once with friends which meant no more obsessing over the numbers on the account.
Statistics at the end of day five:
78 reads
58 followers
Lesson learnt: Sometimes there won't always be obvious progress.

Non-Fiction1 MONTH TO GET 1,000 READS 'How to: Get More Reads On Wattpad' was one of the first books I ever made on this account, and since then I have people coming to me every week asking how to boost their reads. You see there's no exact science behind it...
