Chaos and Destruction

Chaos and destruction was all that could be seen in the streets of Paris. Everywhere you looked, there was a trail of damage.

The city of light shone no more.

The usual happy glow that could be seen was gone, instead replaced by the destruction brought by Hawkmoth's horrific reign.

Nobody had seen the initial attack coming. A swarm of butterflies had just suddenly appeared out of the blue, attacking everyone who had cowered in fear.

The city had been overrun by akumas of all kinds. Those who destroyed, those who transformed, those who attacked and those who defended. Adding them all together created an unstoppable force, and it was obvious that Hawkmoth was very aware of that fact.

Marinette had sprinted across the city as fast as lightning when she first spotted the swarm, heading straight for Master Fu's house so that she could distribute the miraculous to those who already knew how to fight. There wasn't enough time to train new holders after all.

When she had arrived there, Master Fu was already waiting with the miraculous in their boxes, knowing that she'd be there to take them from him.

Marinette had thanked him profusely before she ran out and transformed back into her superhero persona, Ladybug, and called her partner in fighting crime, Chat Noir.

When they met up, she passed him the bee miraculous and he sprinted away, already understanding exactly what it was that she wanted him to do.

Ladybug leaped and bounded over the rooftops, her feet making loud thumps echo around her with every landing. She flung out her yo-yo and propelled herself forwards, trying to find Alya and Nino as fast as she possibly could.

Akumas rampaged on the streets below her and it broke her heart to see her classmates transformed back into their evil selves once again.

She knew that Alya and Nino were strong and hadn't given in to fear as there were no adults floating in bubbles through the sky and no broadcasts of Lady WiFi to be seen.

Once she'd distributed the miraculous, the five heroes met up and began to form their plan to take down Hawkmoth once and for all.

It was about time they put an end to his reign of terror and saved the unfortunate Parisians that were forced to become his minions once again.

The fight had gone well. That is, until he showed up.

Just as the heroes thought they had triumphed, Hawkmoth and Mayura made an appearance it became a battle between miraculous holders, each one just as invincible as the others.

It wasn't long until Hawkmoth and Mayura managed to gain control over them. The five heroes found themselves overwhelmed, thus causing Rena Rouge, Carapace and Queen Bee to be defeated. He took their miraculous from them, leaving them as powerless civilians once again.

Ladybug and Chat Noir had given each other a knowing look before jumping away, narrowly escaping what could have been the end for them, and potentially the end of the world.

They still didn't know what Hawkmoth's wish was, and they'd rather not find out the hard way.

It could potentially destroy the entire world.

With their miraculous beeping and time running out, the two heroes had no choice but to reveal their identities. It was a moment filled with shock and heartbreak as they saw each other without the masks, realising that they'd been pushing each other away in an attempt to be with their other halves.

The next day, Adrien carefully ran around the streets of Paris, frantically searching the city to find her.

He would have tried calling out her name, but he knew that it would only get him caught by the rampaging akumas that were dotted around the city.

Marinette had disappeared, and Adrien had no idea where on Earth she had vanished to. It was causing him great worry as possible scenarios about her whereabouts and her wellbeing popped into his head, each one more and more gruesome than the last.

He gritted his teeth as he tried to block out the consuming thoughts, instead focusing on not getting himself caught and potentially akumatized. Adrien really didn't want to become one of Hawkmoth's many mindless slaves. Not today. Not ever.

Adrien's first thought on where to find her had been her home: the bakery. He had burst in, expecting to find her there with her parents who had managed to avoid the plague of akumas, but she was nowhere to be seen.

Adrien soon found himself at the park with the giant statue of himself and Ladybug, Marinette. Tears brimmed in the corners of his eyes as anxiety built up even more in his chest.

He fell to his knees in front of the statue, memories of all their time spent together echoing in his mind. Adrien thought of Alya, Nino and Chloé. The heroes who had already fallen to Hawkmoth's mighty wrath.

Adrien desperately shook the thoughts away. He couldn't start breaking down now. If he did, he would be vulnerable, just like they had been when their miraculous were taken from them. He couldn't let that happen to himself.

Ladybug needed him. Marinette needed him.

Hearing the shuffling of feet, Adrien leapt up and sprinted away before he could see what it was.

He ran for what felt like forever until he came across a building with its doors unlocked. Adrien pushed open the heavy doors, panting to catch his breath as he leant against them after closing them.

"Adrien!" He heard a feminine voice call out, opening his eyes to see a white room filled with chairs and a few people. He looked ahead, finally realising where he's managed to end up.

A hospital.

He glanced around, spotting the person who the voice had come from. Sabine Cheng stood at the opposite end of the room, worry evident in her expression.

Too shocked to speak, Adrien slowly approached her, his mind begging him to simply ask about Marinette.

"She's okay, Adrien," Sabine reassured, taking his hand and squeezing it in a comforting way. "Come with me."

She dropped his hand and began to walk down a long corridor. One that undoubtedly led to Marinette.
