Beautiful Melody - Adrienette

Marinette's curious gaze flickered around before it finally landed upon the grand piano placed in the middle of Adrien's oversized bedroom, wondering what beautiful melodies Adrien could create when he played it.

She knew that Adrien was able to play some complex songs (he'd previously told her about some of the recitals he'd had to do.) but she couldn't recall ever actually hearing him play.

She walked over to it, sitting on the seat in front of it and trailing her fingers across the black and white keys. The keys pushed down one by one, causing a soft sound to resound and echo through the large room.

Marinette's lips curled into a smile as she continued to aimlessly press the keys, catching Adrien's attention as he shifted his gaze from the manga he was reading.

The blond-haired boy watched her for a moment, noticing how the sunlight that shone through the glass panes of his many windows gave her an ethereal glow.

Adrien wandered over to her and sat beside her, watching as her fingers continued to trail over the keys. His lips curled into a small smile.

"What songs can you play?" Marinette questioned, glancing at him in the corner of her eyes as his expression morphed into one of deep thought.

Adrien abruptly clicked his fingers as if he'd just remembered something and began to list songs (some of which she'd heard of, and some that she didn't recognise at all.) but Marinette's eyebrows furrowed and her lips straightened out when he didn't say the one she had in mind.

"But what about Heart and Soul?" Marinette questioned, causing him to stop in the middle of his sentence and lock gazes with her. He thought about it for a moment, trying to think of whether or not he had ever been taught the song before.

After a moment of deliberation, he shook his head. "I recognise the name of it but I'm pretty sure that I've never played it before."

Marinette gaped at him before amusedly shaking her head.

"Well, I guess we'll just have to fix that, won't we?"

Marinette placed her hands over his, moving them to rest on the keys so that she could teach him the basic melody. She ignored the blush igniting on her cheeks, seeing in the corner of her eyes that Adrien wore a matching one.

After a short while of repeating the same motion over and over again, Adrien seemed to have already mastered it. She wasn't sure how he'd done it so fast but, in all honesty, she wasn't that surprised by it.

The two practiced playing the song together, losing track of the time as they lost themselves in the beautiful melody.

Even from downstairs, the duet they performed together could be heard. The sound brought life into the usually dull mansion and the smiles of the two teenagers brought happiness with it.
