The Virus

Will POV

The nurses walked into the waiting room and looked at Mike and i.
The expression was not happy.
It was sad and regretful.
...
"As we were helping her to breathe, we located a virus that has taken over most of her brain. There is a very small percentage she will live for longer than 24 hours.... I'm very sorry."
I could feel a crippling pain in my chest.
I hugged Mike as tight as i could, pretending it was the last time i got to hug Eleven.
"Go see her." He whispered to me.
He knows that i like her. Theres no need to hide it.
With tears trailing down my face, i walked into Eleven's hospital bed.
She was sleeping peacefully, able to breathe on her own again.
I felt some relief inside myself.
Shes so beautiful.
Her small eyelashes... her small nose, her small mouth. Her big, curious eye's that always wanted more.
Thinking about it made my heart sore.
Why did this monster have to take everything that we love away from us? What do we have that it wants so badly?
I wiped my tears with the palm of my hand and looked at her thinking about all the good times we had together in such as little as a month. Our friendship could have become twice as strong as it is now if we had that time. Our friendship even may have been able to turn into a relationship....
I looked at her one last time.
"Eleven. How do i even say this. I love you so so much. If you can hear me, which you can't, i wish that i was brave enough to tell you that. I want to, but its so hard. I know you still have feelings for Mike, and that all of this is really complicated. But if i never see you again. I want you to know that your friends love you."
By the time i finished, i could feel my face was slightly wet from all of my sobbing. She was going to leave us. There was nothing we could do about that. Hopper, My mom and brother where gone, and it was starting to get late.
I refused to leave her side.
A few hours later, Mike decided to leave the hospital.
It was pitch black outside; It was probably midnight. Eleven and i where the only ones left in the whole building.
I started to fall asleep on her shoulder.
