"You must be the change you wished to see in the world"

|Φ|

SILENCE filled the entire Auradon Prep. Darkness shrouded the hallway with only the bright shimmer of the full moon to light the room from the windows. In the middle of the night, no single soul was seen. Or that's how it's supposed to be. From the moonlight, I can see my shadow slowly lurking as I tiptoed in the empty halls of Auradon, my eyes narrowing as I survey the area for any guards. Turning around the corner, my heart almost lurched out of my throat when I saw a familiar figure walking outside a room with a book in one hand and her magical wand on the other. Frozen in place, I hold my breath as I watched her slowly disappear in the corner. Heaving a deep sigh, I closed my eyes in relief when I can no longer hear her footsteps anymore. Looking sideways, my bag hung heavy in my back as I ran straight towards the doorway.

A gust of cold air blew in my face as I opened the door. Wincing at the loud protruding creak that echoed down the hallways. "Who's there?"

My head snapped at the sound of Fairy Godmother's voice. Quickly closing the door behind me, I sprinted towards the direction of the shore, avoiding Auradon soldiers lurking nearby the gate on guard of any unwanted visitors. Funny that no one's trying to get in, but someone is definitely getting out of this island.

Hearing the crashing waves in the distance, a smile appeared on my face when I could finally see the waves crashing softly in the sand. Slowly walking towards the glowing water, I closed my eyes in bliss as I inhaled a the familiar scent of home.

Quietly, I put down my bag beside me before taking off my dress and placing it inside. Inhaling the smell of seawater deeply, I welcomed the wind as it gently brushed down on my face, caressing my skin delicately as it danced under the luminous moonlight. I grabbed the bag from the sand and clutched it tightly, after which I whispered a small spell:

"Let thee object disappear
A thing not but a dream
Let thy object be unseen"

An echoing whisper resounded amidst the silent night. Waves crashed down the shoreline as golden shimmers slowly crept from my fingertips and enveloped the bag, momentarily blinding me. Opening my eyes, the golden light dulled down until it disappeared with the wind along with my bag. A smile crept down my face as I feel the cold water beneath my feet.

"Erina?!", my head snapped back at a loud shout echoing inside Auradon Prep. Panicking at the sight of the opened light in my bedroom, I turned towards the sea. Taking a step deeper in the wave, I stopped when I heard the desperate voice of my Father calling for me. "Erina! Where are you?"

Inhaling a deep breath, I took one last glance at Auradon, my heart heavy at the thought of leaving the one place where a few of my remaining loved ones remain. I could feel myself wavering at the image of my parents, Ben, Mal, Carlos, Chad... Gritting my teeth, a newfound energy coursed through my vein at that name. I swiveled towards the ocean, taking light hasty steps until the water reached my ankles. Casting another glance to my home, I took a deep breath before whispering softly, letting the wind carry my words towards Auradon.

"Farvel, for nu."

Submerging into the water, I felt the tingles coursing down my spine before blanketing my hips and travelling down the length of my legs. A light protruded from the darkened water as a series of crimson scales crawled its way on my legs, replacing the skin one by one. Then, a magnetic force glued my legs together, stretching the length until an elongated crimson tail appeared as the light from my legs vanished.

Diving deeper into the bottom, I laughed wildly a I flicked my tail at the sea creatures that neared me playfully. A small dolphin brushed its smooth head on my hand before swimming away along with his family. My chest sting as I watched the dolphins glided on the water away from me. Brushing away the feeling, I traverse forward on the seawater, ignoring the fishes coming out of their hiding to gaze upon their Princess. Continuously, I flicked my tail harder as my eyes caught a shimmering glint that grew larger as I closed the distance between us. My body stopped abruptly as I faced the barricade preventing me to enter the Isle. Hands moving forward, I touched the shimmer, lightly hypnotized by the glittering light that stopped the people from escaping. Or entering.
