The wedding was in less than two months now. Everyone was faffing about like a bunch of headless chickens. Getting invitations sent out, wedding rehearsals, cakes and not to mention the nosy media poking about the Kingsman Mansion kept everyone on their toes.
Zara was never one for the media, they irritated her to no end, they always buzzed around creating unnecessary problems for people. Sighing, Zara watched as Carter, one of the guards, slung a woman, over his shoulders and headed for the gate. She must have been some nosy reporter no doubt.
Zara was exhausted, preparations for the damn wedding had left her with sore feet. It was as if Sera was a princess or something. Zara didn't know whether it was jealousy or it was the fact that she detested Sera just as much she did her. Zara tapped her chin, whilst contemplating.
Yeah, it was definitely the latter. After returning from her mission with Lara, she had learnt from Evelyn that Valentine and Vincent had a falling out. She remembered rolling her eyes, she couldn't possibly care less about any of those two knuckleheads. That was until she heard that Valentine was alone at his house....in some sort of rage or phase.
"Miss Kona?" Mrs MacLean said, interrupting her thoughts.
Zara turned around and blushed in embarrassment, Mrs MacLean had caught her not working again.
"We'll discuss your lack of productivity later." Mrs MacLean swivelled around and motioned for Zara to follow. Gulping, Zara followed a few steps behind the director.
Before thinking twice Zara asked a very uncomfortable question, "Have you heard from Mr M?" She asked, swallowing.
Mrs MacLean stopped in her tracks and turned around to look at Zara with glassy eyes. "Mrs Kingsman wants to see you in her office," was Mrs MacLean's only reply.
"B-bu------
"Now!" Mrs MacLean exclaimed, turning around and leaving Zara alone in the hallway.
"Was it something I said?" She whispered to herself in bewilderment.

When Zara finally sat down, the atmosphere was pregnant with tension, which was not fitting for such a comfortable, yet classy office that spoke volumes on sophistication.
"How is your grandmother doing?" Merylin asked genuinely. Zara looked at her black flats and sighed.
"Ahhh.....I see." Merylin nodded in understanding.
"I was planning on visiting her this weekend." Zara said miserably. Merylin nodded and decided against a comment.
"I need you to do me a favour." Merylin began after a few minutes of utter silence. Zara turned her attention away from a Robin Redchest that was pirched on an African snot-apple tree and looked at Mrs Kingsman.
"I'm listening ma'am." Zara smiled faintly.
"It's Valentine, Dave and I might have hurt him." She began shakily. Zara stared at her and silently urged her to go on. "We said things that we shouldn't have to him."
"With all due respect, what does this have to do with me?" Zara asked politely.
"He won't talk to any of us....I think he might just talk to you." Merylin sighed.
"Why in the world would you think that?" Zara asked, but she already knew the answer.
"We both know the answer." Merylin said, "So will you talk to him?" She pleaded.
"Well.....what about Leila?" Zara asked.
"Leila has a habit of disappearing when things get bad." Merylin grumbled.
